A question that always generates a good deal of controversy is about what the future will be like and the elderly who are part of our family, whether it be our father, mother or even our grandparents, often the easy solution is to just leave them in a nursing home, to receive professional care and all the support they need. At first, it seems like a nice thing, a way to reward everything they have done for us, but my opinion is a little different. Even though financial issues also put pressure on this situation, I prefer that the elderly be cared for by their parents. family members.

In my case, I can say about my mother, who is already getting older and therefore requires more elaborate care, not that she is still deprived of anything, she works two jobs, drives, goes to to the market and does a little bit of everything and that's great for me, seeing that she still has this health, but, if there comes a time when she can't do anything anymore, I don't have the courage to put her in a nursing home for the elderly.

She and I have talked about this a few times and one request she always makes is that I not leave her in a nursing home, that she wouldn't be able to handle it, the longing, the feeling of abandonment and all the depression that this would cause for her. I don't feel pressured by this, because it comes from me thinking exactly this, because I think it's a bit ungrateful to leave your mother and father in a different place like that, when they gave their all to you, to raise you, to take care of you. and teach them everything they taught you, and then, at the end of your life, you just leave them behind like that?

I really don't agree! As difficult as it may be when that time comes, I want to take care of my mother closely, as hard and complex as it may be, I don't have the courage to leave her in a nursing home, I think that wouldn't be fair and honorable for each one. sacrifice she made for me, every battle she fought alone to give me the best. I feel like I can't abandon someone who never abandoned me, in the worst of times and difficulties, so put her mother, father, or whoever it is, in a nursing home sounds like a huge act of ingratitude to someone who did everything for you and your family.

That's how I feel, in sickness or in health, in youth or in old age, family is family and should always stay together. I hope that I I can keep this promise I made to my mother, that no matter how difficult everything is, I can stay close to her, take care of her, and return all the love and affection she has always had for me, my wife and my children. This love goes beyond everything and I can't just throw her away somewhere when she reaches old age or has health problems. A real family stays together until the end, until death physically separates us.

Uma questão que sempre gera uma boa polêmica é sobre como será o futuro e os idosos que fazem parte da nossa família, podendo ser o pai, a mãe ou até mesmo nossos avôs, muitas vezes a solução fácil é apenas deixar eles em uma casa de repouso, para receberem o cuidado de profissionais e todo o apoio que eles precisam. No começo, parece ser algo legal, uma forma de recompensar tudo o que fizeram por nós, mas a minha opinião é um pouco diferente disso. Por mais que questões financeiras também apliquem uma pressão nessa situação, eu prefiro que os idosos sejam cuidados por seus familiares.

No meu caso, posso dizer sobre a minha mãe, que já está ficando com uma idade mais avançada e que com isso requer cuidados mais elaborados, não que ela ainda esteja privada de qualquer coisa, ela trabalha em dois empregos, dirige, vai ao mercado e faz de tudo um pouco e isso é ótimo para mim, ver que ela ainda tem essa saúde, mas, caso chegue um momento em que ela não consiga fazer mais nada, eu não tenho coragem de colocar ela em uma casa de repouso para idosos.

Eu e ela já conversamos algumas vezes sobre isso e um pedido que ela sempre me faz é para justamente não deixá-la em uma casa de repouso, que ela não aguentaria isso, a saudade, o sentimento de abandono e toda a depressão que isso causaria para ela. Eu não me sinto pressionado com isso, porque vem de mim mesmo pensar exatamente isso, pois acho que é um pouco ingrato você deixar a sua mãe e pai em um lugar diferente assim, quando eles deram tudo de si para você, para criar, cuidar e ensinar tudo o que eles te ensinaram, e aí, no final da vida, você simplesmente deixa eles longes assim?

Não concordo mesmo! Por mais difícil que seja quando essa época chegar, eu quero cuidar da minha mãe de pertinho, por mais trabalhoso e complexo que seja, não tenho coragem de deixá-la em uma casa de idosos, acho que isso não seria justo e honroso por cada sacrifício que ela fez por mim, cada batalha que ela lutou sozinha para me dar o melhor. Sinto que não posso abandonar quem nunca me abandonou, na pior das fases e das dificuldades, então colocar sua mãe, pai, ou quem for, em uma casa de repouso me soa como uma ingratidão enorme com quem fez de tudo por você e sua família.

Esse é o meu sentimento, na saúde ou na doença, na juventude ou na velhice, família é família e devem sempre permanecer juntos. Espero que eu consiga cumprir essa promessa que fiz para a minha mãe, que, por mais que tudo esteja difícil, eu consiga ficar perto dela, cuidar dela, retribuindo todo o amor e carinho que ela sempre teve por mim, por minha esposa e meus filhos. Esse amor vai além de tudo e não posso simplesmente jogar ela em algum lugar ao chegar a sua velhice ou problemas de saúde. Família de verdade fica junta até o fim, até que a morte nos separe fisicamente.
