We know that fear is something natural that every human being has, no matter how silly it may be for some, for others it can truly be their worst nightmare. Being another one of those things totally linked to a person's individuality, we must know how to respect and understand people's fear, as part of their biological signature, as certainly just judging can be much worse and even unfair to that person.

This reminds me of my daughter, as a good example she saw her children friends doing cartwheels, with their hands and legs, they seemed to be girls who are Olympic gymnasts, all with an age range of 5 to 7 years. My daughter had just turned 7 and really wanted to do this too, this movement with her body, just like the other children, but she ended up not being able to, because she simply got stuck when turning her body. And no matter how much I said it was simple, that I was there to help her, she couldn't because fear spoke louder and louder, it was like that for a while, until she finally managed to carry out this movement.

Fear is something incredible, if we consider that it can help us survive, like a wolf in a forest, fear is what makes us analyze and be calm in our actions, just as it is what guides us to fear and set aside some things in exchange for survival. And for adults like me? Is there fear? Of course! I believe that fear will accompany us until the end of our lives, and we can face it or just learn to live with it. The example that I can share with you, which is related to me, is my fear of speaking in public or of certain commitments that involve talking directly to someone, sometimes I get stuck and at other times, even with all the difficulty I manage to progress and complete what I need to do.

Good examples of this were when I met my current wife, when we were dating, after some time that great moment of meeting her parents arrived and well, I felt sick because of so much thought and so much fear that my in-laws wouldn't like me. It may seem silly, even simple, but I remember that we scheduled the meeting at her house on Saturday and from Friday to Saturday I could barely sleep, just thinking and suffering in anticipation, imagining thousands of scenarios that might never happen, simply terrified by something that It didn't even happen.

The other day, even with a lot of sweat and nervousness, I managed to talk to my wife's parents in a really good and pleasant conversation. I started out a little stuck, but gradually I loosened up and in the end everything went well. Another moment was at a presentation on my son's father's day, where if the parents wanted to go, they could show up at the school and talk a little, talk about their profession and what it's like to live with their son, while the children would do the same, but talking about your life with your father.

Well, I'm honestly not much of a fan of participating in these events where there will be a lot of people, but as my son asked me, I couldn't leave him hanging, so I had to have the courage to face this fear of speaking in public, of having so many eyes looking at me to be able to talk about what it's like to live with my son, our routine and a few other details, in the end, despite all the fear, the experience was very interesting. I learned from all of this that even though I may not have completely overcome this fear, at certain times I can have the strength and be courageous enough to not let it stop me completely.

Anyway, as I usually say, courageous is not someone who is not afraid, that doesn't exist, as I believe we are all afraid of something, but courageous is someone who, despite this fear, manages to face it and move forward, not letting him beat us when that happens.

Sabemos que o medo é algo natural que todo ser humano possui, por mais que seja bobo para alguns, para outros pode ser realmente o seu pior pesadelo. Sendo mais uma daquelas coisas totalmente vinculadas a individualidade de uma pessoa, devemos saber respeitar e compreender o medo das pessoas, como parte da sua assinatura biológica, pois com certeza apenas julgar pode ser bem pior e até mesmo injusto com essa pessoa.

Isso me faz lembrar da minha filha, como um bom exemplo ela via as amigas crianças dela fazendo estrelinha, com suas mãos e pernas, elas pareciam ser meninas que são ginastas olímpicas, isso tudo com uma faixa etária de 5 a 7 anos. Minha filha acabara de completar 7 anos e estava querendo demais fazer isso também, este movimento com o corpo, assim como as outras crianças, mas, ela acabou não conseguindo, porque simplesmente travava na hora de girar o corpo. E por mais que eu falasse que era simples, que eu estava ali para ajudar ela, ela não conseguia por que o medo falava mais alto e bem, foi assim por um tempo, até que ela finalmente conseguiu realizar esse movimento.

O medo é algo incrível, se considerarmos que ele pode nos ajudar a sobreviver, como um lobo em uma floresta, o medo é o que nos faz analisar e ter calma nas ações, assim como é o que nos orienta a temer e deixar de lado algumas coisas em troca da sobrevivência. E para os adultos como eu? Existe medo? Claro que sim! Acredito que o medo irá nos acompanhar até o final de nossas existência, sendo que podemos enfrentá-lo ou apenas aprender a conviver com ele. O exemplo que posso compartilhar com vocês, que é relacionado a mim, é o meu medo de falar em público ou de certos compromissos que envolvem falar diretamente com alguém, em certas vezes travo todo e em outras, mesmo com toda a dificuldade consigo progredir e concluir o que preciso fazer.

Bons exemplos disso foi quando conheci a minha atual esposa, na época de namoro, após algum tempo chegou aquele grande momento de conhecer os pais dela e bem, eu passei mal de tanto pensar e de tanto medo dos meus sogros não gostarem de mim. Pode parecer besteira, ser simples até, mas lembro que marcamos o encontro na casa dela no sábado e de sexta para sábado eu mal consegui dormir, apenas pensando e sofrendo por antecipação, imaginando milhares de cenários que talvez nunca acontecessem, simplesmente apavorado por algo quem nem aconteceu.

No outro dia, mesmo com muita suor e nervosismo, consegui conversar com os pais da minha esposa em uma conversa super de boa e agradável, comecei meio travado, mas gradualmente fui me soltando e no fim deu tudo certo. Outro momento foi em uma apresentação de dias dos pais do meu filho, no qual os pais se quisessem ir, poderiam aparecer na escola e conversar um pouco, falar sobre sua profissão e como é viver com o seu filho, enquanto os filhos iriam fazer o mesmo, mas falando como é a sua vida com o seu pai.

Bem, eu sinceramente não sou muito de participar destes eventos em que irão ter muitas pessoas, mas como meu filho pediu para mim, não poderia deixar ele na mão, então tive que ter a coragem de enfrentar este medo de falar em público, de ter tantos olhos mirando em mim para poder falar sobre como é viver com meu filho, a nossa rotina e mais alguns detalhes, no fim, apesar de todo o medo, a experiência foi bem interessante. Aprendi com tudo isso, que mesmo que talvez não tenha superado totalmente este medo, em certos momentos consigo ter forças e ser corajoso o suficiente para não deixar que ele me trave por completo.

Enfim, como costumo dizer, corajoso não é aquele que não têm medo, isso não existe, pois acredito que todos nos temos medo de alguma coisa, mas, o corajoso é aquele que apesar deste medo, consegue enfrentá-lo e ir em frente, não deixando ele nos vencer na ocasião em que isso irá acontecer.
