Nyonya cuisine comes from the Peranakans, descendants of early Chinese migrants who settled in Penang, Malacca, Singapore and Indonesia, inter-marrying with local Malays.

The cuisine combines Chinese, Malay, Javanese, South Indian, and other influences.

What we have here is Nasi Ulam Nasi ulam is a mixed herb rice served with a type of pork sausage wrapped with tofu skin and salted eggs

The two types of curry is salted fish curry and beef rendang.

The black meat is pork belly cooked in a thick soya suace until its caramelized. Its like candied pork!

The vege dish on the lower left is Jiu hu char. Jiu hu char is stir-fried yam bean with shredded cuttlefish usually enjoyed with rice or eaten as wraps. 

Accompanied with delicious sambal belacan with a squeeze of lime. Divine!
