## Hive, Hive-Engine, the multi-token economy on Hive

#### Hive
- Hive is our main blockchain here, and it hosts many communities like Bloom,  Travelfeed, Leofinance, Ecency, Gems, Splinterlands and other. 
- The reward token on Hive is hive.
#### Hive-Engine
- Hive-Engine is what I will call here a **SideChain**, a software construct which allows Hive Communities **the option**, to provide token rewards **in addition to Hive**
- Hive-Engines allows communities certain blockchain like features, such as tokens, daily token minting, (which is also called token inflation), a token reward pool, token staking, token staking determining voting reward amounts ( called reward pool distribution), just like Hive. 
- But these communities also have unique characteristics, like different token unstaking schedules, and other rules particular to each community token such as virtual token miners, which also mint tokens daily and reward the investors with the most miners.

#### Frontends or Webpages
- Each community has a location or landing page on hive.blog.io like [Bloom](https://hive.blog/trending/hive-180571) has : https://hive.blog/trending/hive-180571 .
- Some Communities have another webpage, sometimes called a **Frontend**, like /INLEO, Sport, PAL, POB or Proof of Brain, and Travelfeed.io .
- Some Communities have their own token to reward posters to their webpage or Frontend, like Leofinance or INLEO has the Leo token, and Sport, PAL and POB have sport, pal and pob tokens respectively, to reward posters to their frontends. 
## Earning this variety of tokens is complicated 
- Freedom breeds diversity, and the rules and token rules change  when the community owners change it, unlike Hive which has a DAO which votes for changes.
- But in general, you can earn these different tokens by posting articles on their webpage / Frontend directly, their hive blog page or simply tagging your posts with the community tag like #gems, #bloom, #pal or #inleo.

## Bloom is trying something new: revive multi-token rewards
- The bear market killed much of the multi-token activity when token values dropped to fractions of a hive, some are 0.000001 hive.
- But the bear market is ending, and some hive-engine token prices may rebound.
- This is not investment advice, as some tokens have billions of tokens in circulation and their price may never recover. But instead it’s opportunity advice on how to earn certain hive-engine tokens.
- I am making earning them through engagement easier.

## Earning tokens through engagement
- Bloom focuses on the CUTE strategy; Comments, Upvotes, Tweets, Earnings.
- Any strategy to earn tokens can get a bad name, but this is earning tokens the way the token economy on Hive is suppose to work, in fact is designed to work, by rewarding engagement.
- The great thing is engagement in the form of comments, upvotes and content are all net positives for all the communities, because buying and holding the community tokens helps increase buying pressure, which should increase the token price, benefiting communities. While accumulating tokens for curation reduces selling pressure, which notoriously lowers token price.
- So I see this as a win-win for Bloom, INLEO and the other Communities whose tokens Bloom decides to accumulate.

### Last words
- Personally, I think reviving communities by rewarding engagement is a very important ingredient of this early bull market, because people who accumulate tokens now will benefit from the coming bull market with increased token prices and bigger earnings.  You can sell now or choose to hodl now for bigger profits.
- I am a believer in taking profits, so don’t misunderstand this as a promotion to sell nothing. Living requires money, and profit taking is good.
- While some will see this as an opportunity to earn and sell tokens to buy more Hive, Leo or perhaps Bitcoin, I think the amount bought by curation accounts will far exceed the amount rewarded in upvotes, so it will still be a net positive.
- Plus some will see this as a way to diversify and become a **Big Fish** , maybe even a whale in some community they are particularly interested in and enjoy reading its content. 
- Hive-Engine creates tokens for multiple communities, and opportunities are plentiful, just don’t assume any of these tokens will make you rich, many will not, but you may have fun and that has value.
