## It looks like HBD has one of the highest rates in all of crypto.

This brings me to my opening thesis: “***Will HBD be the Killer App that puts Hive on the map of cryptocurrency?***

And why?

- Stable coins have always been big in cryptocurrency.
- Ask anyone what USDT or Tether is and they all know. It is the biggest or one of the biggest coins in crypto.

Absolutely right, yes, HBD is a Coin Killer of stable coins.

It's possible but I still think most people prefer UST because of the large marketcap. It's going to take time but I think HBD can move up higher and rival Tether or Circle eventually. It would require way more HBD sinks and the liquidity for the pHBD CUB needs to be higher for it to work out.

Surprisingly @smooth who is working on the HBD Balancer project, says HBD printing could be increased to as much as 160k a day, if people just buy it on the internal DEX for consistently 1-2% over peg. That still leaves a profit margin of 18-28%.

I saw that but I do think the APR will drop down closer to 30% and I am wondering how things will play out once the emission rates are halved. If polycub stays the same price or drops, they might need to allocate a lot more polycub there.

Highly possible but a lot of work still left to be done.  There is another layer to HBD that few are discussing.  It is something that will help to separate this from all others out there.

For now we just need to keep building.  The utility of those other stablecoins is basically on exchanges and for swapping.  We need to go deeper and wider.

It is a process unfortunately and we have to keep the ball rolling in all directions.

#### Deeper and wider indeed
Utility is key, and I agree that a high APR is a great way to get investors through the door, but other utility that differentiates HBD from other stables would keep them in our ecosystem longer!

Without use cases, all is doomed to fail.  That is something to keep in mind.  

**HBD** has the killer use case if we can build it.  This is something that is missing from the entire cryptocurrency industry.
