We long to repair the damage, to seek forgiveness as though it were a balm that could heal all wounds. Yet, the stark truth remains: no apology, no matter how heartfelt, can ever restore what once was.

#### A Warning Written in the Stars

I've heard people say ' I've forgiven them, but I haven't forgotten'.  This is so true in relationships.  Sometimes, it might be better if we could forget the wrongs done us by others.

I think it's a multi step process that takes time; sometimes more time; sometimes less.

You’re so right, sis—relationships are complex, and forgiveness is such a multifaceted journey. The idea of "forgiving but not forgetting" reflects a human balance: letting go of the anger or hurt for our own peace, while still holding on to lessons learned. Forgetting completely might leave us vulnerable to repeated patterns, while holding on too tightly to grievances can weigh us down emotionally.

It is a process, as you said. Sometimes it feels like peeling an onion—layer by layer—until we can truly release the pain. Some hurts take longer, and that's okay. Forgiveness is as much for our own healing as it is about the other person.

I really found myself enjoying the entire article.  You got me, and now following you!😇  Forgiveness was a big issue to me too for some reasons life has to throw at us in one way or another.  And that was it.  To forgive may not change the past but it can surely carve a different and better future days coming ahead since the state of our heart is already clean and it feels so light that we cannot avoid but naturally paint smiles on our faces because we feel happy inside.  I realized that it is the unforgiving heart that makes our soul heavy though we don't carry a baggage physically.  Thanks for this post.  I truly enjoyed reading  from the beginning up to the end.
