Unfortunately, time to create these posts is always short, because as soon as I got back from the relaxing holiday I had, I had to get straight to work, because I am entering the other season of my job. 

But just last night I created this post that I am going to share with you today, through my photos I will let you discover another enchanting village in Tuscany, this one I think almost no one knows about, in fact it was thanks to a very dear friend of mine who just yesterday took me to visit this beautiful village.

It is called Civitella in Val di Chiana, practically speaking we are in the province of Arezzo, a province that from my point of view is quite underrated from the tourist point of view, but that inside hides beautiful villages like this one you see in the photos. 

As usual, I took my classic walk to better admire the hamlet from the inside and unfortunately I realised that many of the houses are closed, or rather they seem to have been uninhabited for a long time, but as usual I was lucky enough to find a gentleman who still lives here and he told me that most of these houses are holiday homes, of people who live in the city of Arezzo, and who come here in the summer, because this hamlet, being at an altitude of about 500 metres, enjoys a period of coolness.

The hamlet was enclosed by walls that still date back to 1200 and there are various access gates, but in my opinion the most interesting thing about this place is undoubtedly the castle called Rocca di Civitella, which as I said in the information tables was built in 1040 and unfortunately during the war was turned into the headquarters of the Nazi troops and was partly destroyed during the various bombings that took place during the Second World War.

In fact, the saddest thing about these places is that during the Second World War many people were killed, in fact, walking through the streets of the centre I saw that there is also the Museum of Remembrance, because in this village alone more than 240 people were slaughtered, and so they thought of creating a place to remember this ugly event in history, but unfortunately I could not visit it because it will most likely only open during the weekend, and when I passed by it was a working day.

In conclusion, what I can say is to visit this place because the streets of the centre of the village I found them in a very good condition you can see that over time these houses have been restored, and most likely the various owners But also the locals themselves are taking care of this jewel of Tuscany, speech instead a bit 'different with regard to the castle, which honestly I did not understand who is the owner but as you can see also a bit 'from the photos, I found it in very good condition and would really need a little restoration.

Unfortunately what I often notice is that in Italy it is sometimes really difficult to take care of these architectural assets, and I understand that it is also very expensive financially, but from my point of view they always arouse beautiful emotions.
