# Arepas fritas stuffed with chicken and beef.

**I will tell you the ingredients I used and how I will prepare these tasty arepas.**

# Ingredients

**For the arepas**
- Corn flour.
- Salt.
- Water.
- Oil for frying.

**For the stuffing**
- Chicken.
- Meat.
- Paprika.
- Onion.
- Garlic.
- Chives, Cilantro.
- Achote.
- Cumin, Pepper and Salt.

>Venezuelans know that arepas, whether fried or grilled, go with practically everything.
Cheese, sausages, stews, beans, meat, fish, pork, sautéed vegetables and much more.
I prepared them fried with stewed chicken and stewed ground beef.

**Preparation**

>The first thing we will do with the chicken is to boil it and then shred it.
We will chop the seasonings small and we will fry them and then add the shredded chicken.
Add salt, pepper and achiote and let it cook with a little of the water where we boiled it until it is dry.
With the meat we will make a change, because first we will sauté the meat and then add the seasoning (I added 1 small grated carrot to the meat, but it is optional).
Lastly we will add salt, pepper and cumin, we could add a little water to ensure a complete cooking but we will let it cook until it is dry.

# Arepas fritas rellenas de pollo y carne

**Les cuento los ingredientes que usé y cómo prepararé estas ricas arepas**

# Ingredientes
**Para las arepas**
• - Harina de maíz.
• - Sal.
• - Agua.
• - Aceite para freír.

**Para el relleno**
• - Pollo.
• - Carne.
• - Pimentón.
• - Cebolla.
• - Ajo.
• - Cebollín, Cilantro.
• - Achote.
• - Comino, Pimienta y Sal.

>>Los venezolanos sabemos que las arepas, sean fritas o asadas, combinan con prácticamente todo.
Quesos, embutidos, guisos, caraotas, carnes ,pescado, cochino,vegetales salteados y mucho más.
Yo las preparé  fritas con pollo guisado y carne molida también guisada.

**Preparación**

>>Con el pollo lo primero que haremos será hervirlo para luego desmenuzar.
Los aliños los picaremos pequeños y los sofreíremos para luego agregar el pollo desmenuzado. 
Agregaremos la sal la pimienta y el achiote y dejaremos cocinar con un poco del agua donde lo hervimos hasta que quede seco.
Con la carne haremos un cambio, porque primero sofreíremos la carne para luego agregar los aliños. (Yo Le agregué a la carne 1 zanahoria pequeña rayada, pero es opcional).
Agregando de último también la sal la pimienta y el comino, podríamos agregar un poco de agua para asegurarnos de una cocción completa pero lo dejaremos cocinar hasta que quede seco.

>To prepare the arepas or arepa dough we will use two cups of corn flour with 2 cups of water and salt to taste.
We knead and then we assemble the arepas trying to make them as round as possible.
It is not the rule, but some of us make a hole in the middle when we fry them 😉.

>I'll tell you that as a last minute preparation I made a guasacaca one. With avocado, cilantro, salt, lemon and a spoonful of mayonnaise.

>>Para la preparación de las arepas o de la masa para las arepas usaremos dos tazas de harina de maíz con 2 tazas de agua y sal al gusto.
Amasamos y luego armamos la arepa procurando que queden lo más redonda posible.
No es la regla, pero habemos quienes le hacemos un agujero en medio cuando la hacemos fritas 😉

>> Les cuento que, como preparación de última hora hice una de guasacaca. Con aguacate, cilantro, sal, limón y una cucharada de mayonesa.
