Hoy les traigo la tercera entrega de la serie “Recuerdos de un pasado no tan lejano”, que intenta hacer un ejercicio de arqueología cultural o urbana moderna, para mostrar aquellos objetos que existieron y fueron lo máximo, el top para los humanos de ese tiempo. Aquí les expongo un trocito más de estos objetos, los cuales son un legado de mi familia. Espero les agraden, porque aún falta más.</div></b>

<div class="text-justify">Hello everyone! Today I bring you the third installment of the series "Memories of a not so distant past", which tries to do an exercise in modern cultural or urban archeology, to show those objects that existed and were the best, the top for humans of that time. Here I expose you a little more of these objects, which are a legacy of my family. I hope you like them, because there is still more to do. </div>

<b><div class="text-justify"> Una de las experiencias más torturantes de mi formación, fue el aprender a escribir a máquina. Tenía una profesora que me tapaba las teclas con cinta adhesiva negra, y si me sentaba mal en la silla, o erraba al escribir, me golpeaba durísimo con una regla de madera por la espalda; no obstante, hoy le doy gracias por su nivel de exigencia, así hubiese recurrido a métodos algo rústicos, porque soy muy rápida transcribiendo y esa destreza me fue útil para ganarme la vida en cierto momento. Bueno, hoy aquí les presento dicho instrumento de tortura, aunque esta máquina no es de ese tiempo (como 30 años atrás), sino que me la obsequiaron posteriormente. Esta aún funciona perfectamente y aunque no requiera utilizarla, de vez en cuando la saco y tecleo para que no se atasque su mecanismo.</div></b>

This still works perfectly and even though I don't need to use it, from time to time I take it out and click so that its mechanism does not get stuck. </div>

<b><div class="text-justify"> Esta máquina que les presento a continuación, la compré cuando cerraron una oficina de envíos que estaba al lado de mi casa; eso fue 20 años atrás. Ya estaba deteriorada cuando la adquirí, pero no he podido restaurarla, supongo que cuando lo haga quedará realmente preciosa. Calculo que tendrá aproximadamente unos  60 años o más de antigüedad, toda una joya de historia moderna.</div></b>

<b><div class="text-justify"> En mi país era común que a los niños se les regalasen alcancías para que guardasen monedas allí, y de esta forma incentivar la cultura del ahorro. Desde hace ya varios años, las monedas y el dinero en sí mismo, han ido desapareciendo, razón por la cual las alcancías han dejado de existir también; sin embargo, yo aún conservo algunas de ellas. Esta que les muestro aquí está elaborada y pintada a mano, y está hecha de barro; es muy muy vieja, y la compré hace unos 20 años cerca de mi casa, en una tiendita que parece una cápsula del tiempo, porque se consiguen las cosas más antiguas e inverosímiles del planeta y a unos precios increíbles, sólo que la regenta una señora de casi 90 años de edad, y ella desconoce todo lo que implican las transferencias, pagos móviles y criptomonedas, y sólo admite que se le pague en moneda venezolana y en efectivo, así que es casi misión imposible comprarle, ¡una verdadera lástima!</div></b>

This one that I show you here is made and painted by hand, and is made of clay; It is very, very old, and I bought it about 20 years ago near my house, in a little store that looks like a time capsule, because you get the oldest and most unlikely things on the planet and at incredible prices, only that it is run by a lady from almost 90 years old, and she is unaware of everything that transfers, mobile payments and cryptocurrencies involve, and only admits that she is paid in Venezuelan currency and in cash, so it is almost mission impossible to buy from her, a real shame! </div>

<b><div class="text-justify"> He dejado para el final unas piezas de peltre. Quizás el peltre en otros países es algo común, pero aquí ya no lo es, antes sí lo era, y en muchas mesas familiares y de restaurantes, era la vajilla por excelencia. Aquí les he traído una cafetera que perteneció a mi bisabuela y en los últimos años, mi Tía Chichita la utilizaba para colorear el aceite de cocinar con onoto. Las otras piezas son más contemporáneas, y eran de mi tía, pero aún así son hermosas y muy útiles. Yo las había guardado, pero les empezaré a dar uso.</div></b>

Perhaps pewter in other countries is common, but here it is no longer so, before it was, and in many family and restaurant tables, it was the tableware par excellence.
