Few days after the #Ethereum hard fork I am trying to make some sense of it, beyond what is already said or written about it, pre or post the fork. For that reason I was looking at the value of the tokens that represent the two separate #blockchains, anymore. I will just not bother with the fact that many of the people who voted for the Ethereum hard fork, now ask for their balance of #ETC not to be confiscated and be allowed to withdraw. Normally they should have access to their funds, since as it became apparent a new coin made its way after the split. A first interpretation is that #ETH 's value is one that is derived by collective or "vested" interests actions. They had a lot to lose if the fork was not pushed through, so they did. #ETC represents value of initially a small minority that chose not to allow itself the comfort of a second mistake by changing the rules for a bad investment decision. After all, as soon as the hard fork cycle is open, it does not close. The loads of fraudulent coins that followed #bitcoin's open source nature proved that already. There are a few exceptions that worked to modify the code and offer upgrades or different approaches, still a minority though. The price of #ETH post-fork remains at the same level, more or less, meaning the bad publicity and retrieving the funds cost some 40-50% of value. The price of #ETC seems to go upwards but at the moment is very low, perhaps representing just a minority. A second interpretation is that the current #ETC price reflects the cash out that never took place after the #DAO hack. It should be considered as balanced, since it is no longer developed and maintained by the team that has thrown it off the cliff, contrary to the #ETH which is just a mirage. Since both share the same hyper-inflationary properties I will not delve in it, as it is not adding to the comparison. I will just point out that if #ETC manages to draw dev support to further its cause and the dump on behalf of those #ETH-ers ends if not already, then it may start adding value again. I really do not have to mention that if I were the hacker, I would hold #ETC.

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 9.3 and reading ease of 72%. This puts the writing level on par with Michael Crichton and Mitt Romney.
