CLOUDMINING EXPERIMENT - Hashing24

<p><strong>Why?</strong></p>
<p>I read a lot of posts from people talking about genis-mining and other cloudmining services, I see a lot of youtubers talking about cryptocurrency and always referring to the link underneath the video to different cloudmining services, and… I like the idea of mining bitcoins…</p>
<p><strong>Is it profitable?</strong></p>
<p>When you look for the answers on the internet, it is not clear or it is profitable or not… Even google is not helping me a lot with this one…&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then I tried to find the answers on steem.it, and offcourse, I found people writing about cloudmining here!&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
  <li>Some did the calculation and explain why it <strong>wouldn't be profitable</strong> (@preparedwombat - link: https://steemit.com/mining/@preparedwombat/cloud-mining-is-not-profitable )</li>
  <li>Others tried it and <strong>admit that they will not make money out of it</strong> (@mikeb -link: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@mikeb/a-beginner-s-experience-with-bitcoin-cloud-mining-is-it-worth-it )</li>
  <li>And others are<strong> good at explaining how it works</strong> (@eroche – link: https://steemit.com/mining/@eroche/how-can-you-make-money-with-cloud-mining )</li>
</ul>
<p>As others point out, it is way better to buy bitcoin/altcoin and just hold them, after a certain time you will have more profit from the price that’s goin up, more than you will make with cloudmining.</p>

<h2>Why did I choose for HASHING24?</h2>
<p><strong>Reason 1: cheaper to start compared to genis-mining</strong></p>
<p>Well, the price of their cheapest contract is only 16.45$, and the one from the other big cloudmining service, genis mining is almost the double at 30$ (okay, you get a bigger hashrate, but as I said, I just do it to try it out, not for the profit).&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Reason 2: &nbsp;Headquarter in Europe</strong></p>
<p>Their headquarter is in Glasgow, and they also have one in Thailand and in Ukraine. I am from Europe so as I could not find any time of payments, I thought it will depend on te time in Glasgow.</p>

<h2>How do you start with cloudmining?</h2>
<p>You go to a website like hashing24.com or genesis-mining.com and you choose a “contract” wich u would like to purchase. Sometimes you can even choose what coin you want to mine. Then you have to choose at wich power rate you want to cloudmine, it is measured in hashings per second. The cheapest contract on hashing 24 will cost you 16,56 USD (14,95 EUR) and, offcourse, you can also pay it with bitcoin.</p>

<p>After clicking on “buy”, you can choose how you want to pay it. If you pay with bitcoin, you get a deposit address where you must send the amount of bitcoin of the choosen contract. After the payment is completed you receive an e-mail with the confirmation of you “balance refill”. @ Hashing24 you pay for a “lifetime” contract at this hashrate, but they state clear that they can stop it as soon as mining is not profitable anymore and they also stop it as soon as you balance has no funds to pay for the daily fee. Yes! You must pay an additional fee for the costs of the electricity, etc… it is at 0.003$ a day and they take it automaticly from your daily bitcoin payouts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So far so good, the mining starts the day after your contract has been paid. I did pay on 6 may and the contract started at 7 may. So here are my first fresh mined bitcoins:</p>

<p>As you can see, the amount can be different each day, but for now i did got an average of 0,00003407 BTC, and at the current price this is <strong>0.06$ / day! </strong>So, if everything stay the same (difficulty, price of BTC, maintence &nbsp;cost) it will take me 275 days to break even… But… I am sure not everything will stay the same… So I gues… It will not be profitable, or it will take a very very very long time to get my money back out of it!</p>

Good article. I was thinking about just trying some cloud mining to get my feet wet. Perhaps Monero with either Hashing 24 or Genesis. Maybe Hashing24 to start since you don't need a lot of upfront money.

I understand you wanted to try. Its an alluring thing, the fees will go up slightly and the income down as the *difficulty* increases so you will be lucky to make 200 days. I fell for it too so I am not ridiculing you. Mine was with Genesis (HERES MY CODE!) but I think they are all the same

Thanks for the reply! And if theire is a miracle and BTC rise to 20 000$, we will make big profits! But like I said, I don't think this will happen verry soon, for sure not within this 200 days! But yes, just the idea of freshly mined BTC (wich i did read you can check it online, that they never have been spent before) was something i would try!
