Going there and meeting a few people doesn't represent the whole picture of the 7 million population there, it requires more research.

It would always be better for westerners, with all due respect, to be concerned more and speak about the enslavement by the lobbycracies governing them in their countries in instead of nosing into other people's business. I'm sure some dollars spent on the decaying infrastructure in your country, on the Healthcare system, water treatment, fast responding to natural disasters, homeless people, students education, retirement plans, drugs epidemic... Would be more fruitful and more beneficial than spending those dollars on interfering in other countries. And please don't let any western talk about human rights and supporting freedoms, the US has the worst record followed by its allies in this field. They never support such rights in countries that are already under them: Saudi, Palestinians, Iraqis, Afghanis, Yemenis.......... 

The west's blatant interference in the Hong Kong riots and the response of those on the streets there welcoming that interference has immediately labeled them as enemies and traitors by others. Since 2016 your whole country is in political chaos over 3000 Facebook posts, how would you think the Chinese would respond to the actual material interfering in their very core lives?

Live and let others live their lives, don't ever think of exporting your 'freedoms' to other countries, not all societies around the world appreciate LGBT, Satan worship, appointing orange clowns and pimps as presidents, to count a few.

And I'm Syrian, in case you would like to talk further about the freedoms, we have some hundreds of Trump forces illegally on our land not spreading democracy but stealing our oil and sponsoring ISIS and al-Qaeda among others.

This is not a personal thing @skycorridors, it's an opinion.

This is a great video on the background of the protest in Hong Kong Naomi, and is perfect for those who don't know much about it.  There was briefly a crypto currency that was developed for the protest at the backend of 2019, can't remember what it was called, but it disappeared as fast as it appeared.

As you're proabably aware, the protest situation has changed significantly since your visit.  Normally it changes week by week, in terms of speed of change, this is no different and even faster, but in a different direction.  Although it's less about the human rights and erosion of freedom now, the police brutality and useless government in handling the latest situation is the same.  Those things will never change.

Hello Naomi ..... last time you asked me in a reply if d.tube or 3speak would let you post via another social media account....now I don't have other accounts other than Steem, but I do see on 3speak the option to log in from another social media account as well... and I imagine that once you set that up, your account will not be able to post on the Steem Blockchain via 3speak ( d. tube if you use it instead). 
Anyhow, thank you for posting here on Steem and keep it coming.
