My 2017: Welcoming the new year - In a new way!
Welcoming the new year is something that's celebrated all over the world. I have often wondered how others celebrate around the globe! That's what makes the #my2017 challenge by @anomadsoul so great! I am not only excited to participate but also excited to learn new fun ways to celebrate! This year we did things a little bit different, but still had fun. So come along with me and @skylineking88 and see how we celebrated this year in Sarnia, Ontario!

Normally every year, new years eve consists of heavy drinking with friends and family! I would normally pay a ridiculous amount in child care, for one night of freedom from my four "angels"! Usually we will end up doing something stupid obviously alcohol related. Probably even forget it is midnight and miss the count down! Of course we would have thousands of munchies! The next day, wake up with a hangover to four "starving" children at the crack of stupid! I think that is what made 2017 so great! 
**NO HANGOVER!**

No hangover, meant no drinking! My friends, husband (@skylineking88) and I decided we were going to make it about the kids! Of course the men had a few beers, but no one got drunk. We had board games and the x-box kinnect for the kids! They kept themselves amused most of the night! Way better than going poor to have a baby sitter! They had the whole basement as a kids zone. I think they creamed off three bags of chips between the five kids. The adults played personally incorrect card game and listened to music. We also had a ton of munchies upstairs! Everyone brought their dog. We had a party of three little bow wows! Even they had a fabulous time! Eating all the chips that hit the floor from the kids.

When it was five minutes to the new year, we turned on the New York live ball drop! We all counted down together! 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... **HAPPY NEW YEAR!** We all screamed as loud as we possibly could! I'm surprised the sleeping baby did not wake! It ended with the adult couples smooching and the kids yelling "eww gross!"

We left shortly after midnight and my friend kept my children for a sleepover. So not only was I not hungover! I got to sleep in until 12:30pm. Something I have not done since high school! Plus, awoke to a quiet home! I can already tell 2018 is going to be an awesome year!

Nice!  Reminds me of my childhood New Years, gathering around and watching the countdown on the TV.  (Only my parents definitely still woke up with hangovers the next day haha.)  Hope you have a great year!
