To start the day as always I show up at the shop around 715 to hear what we are doing for the day. Today as expected I went to arlanxeo again. This means we will be doing the cap which is the last step really in getting the roof sealed.

This is the rolls of the cap, I have now spent most of my morning taking these stickers off and cutting them in half. 


These are put on with hot tar, this is a much cheaper and safer way than torching 
them on.

This device is called a  Hot Lugger, it is used to bring the got tar over from the kettle. The kettle is what heats the tar and brings it up a pipe onto the roof. From that, you pour it into the pot for easy transport.

Here if the field, it is mostly all capped and ready for stripping. This will finish the roof.

So hitting just about 20k steps today was pretty easy and I will be back likely Thursday with more life of a roofer activity log.
