What up my garden friends. Are you excited that we got some nice weather coming around? I know I am and I can't wait for this weather to come to get the garden outdoors going.

Well in the meantime I still have an Indoor garden going. Today I wanted to show how I like to grow some of the lettuce that we eat.

The First thing you will need to do for this is, well eat some dam lettuce.

After you cut the lettuce you will keep the very end stock on it.

You will then put that small cut off part into a small container. Once it is in the container you will want to add a small amount of water. I like to add just enough to cover the bottom of the lettuce.


Once you have done that you can find a nice sunny window ledge or a grow light if you have one. Let this grow about a week, you will start to see the lettuce coming up. While it is in the window you will need to make sure to change out the water every day.

After you have got some of the New growth comes out you will want to get a nice new pot ready for the lettuce. I like to use promix for all my plants indoor. I have added some promix along with some EWC to the pot.

After you fill the pot about halfway with soil. You will then want to put the lettuce into the pot. I Like to than full the pot just below the top of the old lettuce.

Once you have the lettuce with soil on the top you can go ahead and give it a nice little water. I find when you add a lot of water at once, I find it stays wet for too long and takes longer to root. In saying that I like to add small amounts every day until it starts to get wet.

Did you know that you can regrow quite a few scraps from vegetables? 

1. Green Onions
2. Celery
3. Leeks
4. Basil, Mint, Cilantro
5. Potatoes
