The Stupa for the Great Monk Yil Yeon and the Patterns on it in Yin Gak Sa Temple
Probably the oldest thing in this temple would be the stupas for the monk Yil Yeon. At first I could not notice the stupas, because those stupas were located in the corner of the temple. 
The style of the the stupa was as same as that of other stupas made in the Goryeo dynasty.

The patterns were carved on the surface of the stupa body. But it was not easy to identify what those patterns were.

Fortunately, the copy of the patterns carved on the body of the stupa was exhibited in the provisional building stood at the corner of the temple.

An intriguing post, @slowwalker - the monument inscriptions were so faded  the site caretakers needed to provide illustrative templates.

What immediately leapt to mind was the centuries it took wind and rain to erode the stone.

In addition to containing relics, these stupas are often used for purposes of meditation and I could think of no deeper meditation than to contemplate time's passage and human mortality.

A simple yet profound post, my friend.

That is an interesting prints from the carving from Stuppa, the figures are all in different position, just looking like they are dancing. Seeing these pictures they reminded me how when we were in Wales and there in Museum it was a form of Dragon (Dragon is on national Welsh flag) that the children could put a specially prepared black paper and go over with golden color pencils, so that they had a beautiful dragon print as a memory, my son one at home I really love it because of two things, first I love dragons and second because it was done by my son :)
