Once there was a nine-feet tall terrible giant from a hostile clan who challenged the kingdom to fight against him. The defeat would mean slavery of one’s tribe to that of the opponent’s. He did this for forty straight days yet no one from the kingdom dared to combat such monster-like creature. All of the kingdom’s people, even the mightiest soldiers, and the tall king were frightened, well, except for one petite shepherd boy.

Such lad, despite his small body, was very courageous and was never petrified to fight the titan. He fought bears and tigers before, and he defeated them all. The skills he used to protect his flock of sheep from the predators were the same skills he applied to beat the giant. He shoots a stone from his slingshot directly to the giant’s temple, which caused its pitiful downfall.

##### Does the story above sounds familiar to you? Yes, you got it right. It is the biblical story of **David and Goliath”**. **David**, the shepherd boy, who later became the king of Israel, saved the whole Israelites from the near domination of **Goliath’s** barbaric clan, the Philistines.
___
Today, I will start sharing the keys to a champion’s life. This is an excerpt from one of my favorite authors, Bro. Bo Sanchez, in his book **“How to Conquer Your Goliath”**. According to Brother Bo, there are seven secrets to unlock the champion in us that will help us overcome the problems which are preventing us from reaching our dreams.
___
In our everyday lives, we are battling with our own **_Goliaths_** which can make our knees trembling with fear. It may be about that dragging financial problem, unsolicited sickness, demanding relationships, tough workload, or personal weaknesses.
Some of them may be so frustrating that they often define the life we are living at the moment. A life full of stress, futility, and hopelessness. Perhaps, we momentarily lost the key that made us more excited about life. That made us thrilled to wake up in the morning knowing that there’s a goal we need to achieve. Or maybe, just maybe, we haven’t crafted that key … yet.

#
Unlocking The Champion In You Using The First Key : Follow Your Dream with Passion

> If you are bored with life, if you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals
>
> Lou Holtz
Are you that kind of person who wakes up just because it’s part of your daily routine? Does waking up early excites you to go to your school? to your work? to your business? If so, what keeps you going? What keeps you holding on for too long that you’ll do whatever it takes to reach those? Yes, I am talking about that Dream. That dream you’ve kept yourself for so long that you have to spend decades at the school. That dream that wakes you up 6 am in the morning to prepare for another day of eight to twelve hours at work. That dream that lets you work even during weekends since you have something to catch up for business.
Do you have those dreams? Does going to school, work, or business helps you in reaching those goals in life? You may have it, but if you’re still feeling uninspired to push through, then maybe the following points could help you refresh, redefine, or create your dreams in life.

**Focus on the dream, not the giant.** Before I learned how to trade Cryptocurrencies, I got scammed. Countless times. Yeah, countless times, and those so-called investments were telling how they’re using the pooled money from the “investors” to do Cryptocurrency Trading. That was mid-year of 2017. Mind you, I never had any idea what Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency that time. All I wanted was to have a passive source of income. And when I finally realized I’m already losing all my savings, that’s when I learned how to trade, and that’s when I learned about Steemit.
Sure, you can get countless bumps and setbacks along the road. There are times that you’ll experience some losses, failures, and disappointments. And it is completely okay to mourn, to grieve and to cry. You are entitled to feel those in order to live again. However, as what Bro. Bo said, **”But grief, if extended far too long, will kill”**. Instead of focusing on the problem, why don’t you spend your time and energy on those dreams? There are things that are uncontrollable, things that may hinder you from holding on. But hey, if you find that dream, then you’ve got to pursue it. With passion. No matter how long it takes.
> Focusing on your problem depresses your spirit. It limits your vision. It traps you into a hole. Focusing on your dream is different. It energizes you. It expands your vision. You see opportunities you never saw before.

**Repeat the dream to yourself again and again.** I will become a good trader. I will become a good trader. I will become a good trader. I may not be as good as those best traders earning several digits in one trade, but I know I will get there. Soon.
I have this so-called “Journal of Dreams” where I jot all my dreams down. From buying a new phone to building a house of my own. I read it every morning to keep myself reminded about the goals I have to achieve. I write the target dates and dates of accomplishment beside it. When I feel down and hopeless, I just pick that journal, constantly reminding myself of my dreams, and congratulating for the accomplishments I have made. This journal really keeps me going.
So if you’re having a hard time realizing your dreams, maybe you just lack in reminding yourself about them every day. It is very powerful and inspiring to wake up, knowing that you have something to accomplish. So pick up that empty notebook, write down those visions, and remind yourself of them, over and over again.
> So writing down your dreams is fantastic. By itself, it already unlocks the blessings of the universe upon your life. By writing down your dreams, you open yourself to life’s river of abundance.

**Make your dream as graphic as you can.** I already have my “Journal of Dreams”, but I want to work more on it. I want to put more details about my dreams. I need to be specific about the kind of professional camera I want to buy, the kind of trader I want to become, and the color, the size, the location of the house I want to build. Since I’m inclined with Arts, perhaps, I’ll do some paintings of my dreams.
One of the best lessons I learned while reading this book so far is having a dream is not enough. You have to be as detailed with those dreams as you can. When you dream, you’ve got to be specific. If you’re a writer, support those dreams with details. If you’re an artist, draw or paint those dreams. Imagine everything that you want to have, and it will come to you. If you’re familiar with the Law of Attraction, then that’s what I am trying to portray. As what Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
> It’s also why Olympic champions visualize their goals. Coaches tell their athletes to win first in their minds of they want to win in the field.
> Champion athletes visualize constantly.
> In the same way, champions in life create visions of their desired future in their minds.
___
Basically, the first key to conquering our “Goliaths” in life is about defining our dreams, following them, and pursuing them with passion. This becomes the very core of our way towards being life’s champion. So just keep on holding that *key* as I reveal the next keys on my next posts.
