Lessons continue in spite of the chronavirus, life continues; as we get back to work!

My Daughter has been teaching my Grandson Merrick, his ABC's. He will be 3 in August, and loves this new game!

He likes it so much that Momma got this picture:

He is teaching Zander (his partner in crime) his ABC's, and Zander is hanging on his every word!  

They Have been best buds for years:

His lessons progress, he has figured out that letters go together to make words....

The block was backup apparently.

But if he doesn't do his lessons he gets punished, with a full blown tickle like this!

Beginning their education early is such an important thing to do alas, many parents don't have the time, or want to give up the time, to do so these days. It is a shame and I wonder how much it may disadvantage children in their initial development phase. Clearly your daughter is one who is doing the right thing by her son, and I would guess that she learned that from you.

I like to hope so, LOL! I taught her how to fix things, and I taught him how to cook and sew. 

They BOTH had their own .22 rifle at seven, and I taught them how to use every firearm type. They are very proficient!

What a life long memory treasure those parents gave up, SMH! Philip and I were hunting for dinosaur bones before he started into school...and we found some!

It sure sounds like you are a parent of the *old school* much like mine were. I didn't get taught how to hunt and shoot guns, but was left with many skills, physical and emotional, to take into my life and I believe I have had a better life because of it. 

My parents weren't the best ever...I'm not sure if a set of parents actually exist that are; However they did the best they knew how and I appreciate that.

Haha, that picture of Merrick and Zander sleeping is gold! 

I remember my mum doing flash cards with me, not at 3, but have recollections from about the age of 4 or so...It must have worked, because I can manage to put a word or two together these days.

He thought that Merrick was the BEST toy Momma ever brought home for him! They are think as thieves, the Dachshunds are him helpers; and they get in a lot of trouble together!

He knows them well enough they are mixing them now, and building words, he will be reading soon! I taught my son to read in two weeks when he was six, and by the time he was ten, he had his own account at the bookstore.

Merrick teaching the dog was cute, but even cuter was the dog trying to understand what his buddy wanted him to know, LOL!

I had one little girl dachshund, that figured out what we were spelling "G O  I N  T H E  C A R" would find her at the front door waiting, while the rest didn't know what was going on!

I think it's important to introduce children to pets early. It teaches them many things that will often stay with them for life. We always had pets around and I have a lot of fond memories of them, even now, years later.
