For those looking for how to get colors on images and use or make the dominant image of an image a background of their web page, then Adaptive Backgrounds is the solution.

Adaptive Backgrounds is a simple jQuery plugin that you can use to extract dominant color of an image and apply it to the background of its parent element.

This process can be explained in this three simple steps below:

>(1) The page loads 
>(2) the dominant background color of the image is extracted
