Does time have a beginning or an end?

<p>In ordinary human life, we know that the day starts from 12am and ends @ 11:59pm. We also know that Sunday starts the beginning of every week and the week ends on Saturday. For those working in office, Monday is the first day of the week and the week ends on Friday.</p>

<p>These are the normal things we know about life. We also know that human life begins at a particular time. I was born on a particular day and my time and life started from that spot. I also know that this my life will end at a particular time. I am sure i can't live forever because every human is a mortal being. Logically, this life will end at a particular time.</p>
<p>It has also been speculated that space-time fabric&nbsp;of our universe violently burst into existence about 13.8 billion years ago. Scientists have ways of coming up with hypothesis about certain things and the universe is among those things.</p>
<p>My question today is not about what we know or sure of. It is about that which we have no evidence for. If the universe started at about 13.8 billion years ago, what was in existence before then? Is it 'nothing'? Or we just can't account for these things.</p>
<p>Also, if we can speculate about when it all began, how about when it will end? Will this world that we are come to an end?&nbsp;</p>
<p>From the religious angle, the Supreme Being created heaven and earth. We can ask when? My question is about when it was it created? Where was the Supreme Being when He was creating the heaven for instance?&nbsp;</p>
<p>Note that no creator can be in what he is creating. A creator is outside what he is creating. If this is true, it is either there is a third knowledge about where He was then ( which we don't know) or He was in the same heaven he created (which is illogical).</p>
<p>Perhaps, the religious people will say yes based on what they read and were told. The idea that there will be a trumpet sounding from above to earth with angels sounds utopian.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Even if we accept that they have an idea that the world will probably come to an end, we can also ask when?&nbsp;</p>
<p>We are only sure that our individual lives will come to an end one day but we can't be sure about the world at large. We should not also forget that we are talking about planets and not earth alone. When were these planets created, by who and when will these planets come to an end?</p>

No body knows when his or her life will end, no one knows when time will be up and the whistle will be blown and curtain will be drown on us that is while one needs to always live asif we might not see tomorrow. That is you will a well guided life that is worthy of emulation, a life that people will crave for. 

If to answer when the earth will come to an end it's only God that knows but surely lives come to an end everyday........

Most times I do not like to delve into what I have no answers to. I have thought many times about the entire world creation and the Supreme GOD himself- how he came into existence but no matter how I search, there's still no idea about him that's to show that he's beyond human comprehension.
And all we may do is speculate. Ah! this one gives me drowsiness.
All I can say is "there is an end to every beginning" just like we know it is appointed for every living creature to die(am I even sure about this?), we do not know when we would die that also explains why we do not know when the world would come to an end.
According to my belief, the only GOD almighty knows.
@smyle, you think so far and deep, I just got a slight headache from this.

hahah! lols! Sorry about the headache!

Your argument implies that everything must come to an end. Does it include non-human material things? We live in the world but it is conceptual. Though real but we can't hold it. The 'end' means extinction without a trace or what? If it has remnants, then it is still in existence.
