https://s20.postimg.cc/wgblo4a8t/images_17.jpg

Credit

As a philosopher, i believe there are some indefinable terms that no matter how we try to define them, we will always run into repetition.

Colour is an important aesthetic property that determines what makes something 'A' beautiful or not. Most of our empirical aesthetics judgements are based of how we see the things before us. That is, how they appear to us and this informs why we have different views and judgements.

To avoid these differences and confusions, lovers of aesthetics maintain that we need to distance ourselves from what we are judging. To them, a good aesthetic judgement is one that the observer of the work distance himself from the work in question.

Looking at the skeptics view that we cannot say categorically that honey is sweet for all because it is not sweet for everybody, this also informs the idea that we cannot define colour yellow!

Now you might be wondering if my last sentence is true. Well, you can try to convince me that you can by attempting it. So i put it to you, define colour yellow!

While you are busy trying to rack your brain on how to define colour yellow, also ponder on how to explain colour to a blind man.

Is it possible? Can you attempt it? Like tell a blind man this is yellow, black or green? Perhaps you are thinking black would be easy to define because you are probably thinking a blind man must be seeing something dark or black. Well, you need to ask someone who was initially blind what his picture was or what he was seeing while he was blind to actually have an idea if it is black or dark.

Do not forget that i am talking about a blind person who has no knowledge of anything vision other than what he hears. He knows nothing about daylight and night.

So how will you sit such person down to explain colour yellow, green or black to him?

Can you attempt it? At least try convince me that it is a possibility!

Thanks for your time. Your boy @smyle the philosopher.
