There are some elements on Steemit that make it difficult to gain new, quality authors.  I am not talking about the reward system, the votes, the bots copyright infringements.  

I am talking about some particular topics here that seem to be making a big splash.  To be honest I read a bit about everything here and have voted for a variety of topics.  I like the selection so I can view whatever my mood is that day.

Some topics, though incredibly popular here with the few thousand active users we have voting and commenting.  No doubt whatever gets posted here will find some votes and views.

Please understand that people already on Steemit are different than regular people.  We are, it's a good thing that's why we like here.   Our point of views on the world do not coincide with the mainstream agenda.

Among so many topics and posts that I really never wanted to see but at least respected their position and their objectives; all but this one.  

<h2>Porn.  Seriously?</h2>
  People are actually trying to have dedicated section of porn on steemit. 
**This is a really bad idea.**
 First, who will be responsible that the girls are of age and willing participants?  You do realize if any laws are broken it falls on Dan and Ned right?  I am 100% certain it will have revenge porn elements.  There will not be any original pics other than amatuer stuff. It will be guys posting pics they find online or their drunk gf's mostly.  

All steemit users will be associated with it whether we part take or approve or not.

The posts don't make even a fraction of the amount it would cost to hire a proper beautiful legal age model with consent.

Don't give me any morality malarky.  I love porn, what man doesn't.  I do not need it on Steemit.  Nobody does.  So what, you make a few bucks posting some girl that probably has no idea she's here?  

<h2>Copy and Rewritten</h2>
Too many posts are literally inspired by today's headlines.  Look, I like reading them,  I wasn't reading headlines anywhere else for a while because I was always reading them here.  I do enjoy those post because I didn't read them else where.  

No body will join steemit so they can re read headline in someone elses words. It does not attract the type of user who, like many of us, sit on steemit for hours a day playing games, interacting with comments and choosing where our precious votes will go to.  They will come post for a few days and buggar off.  

My faith in steemit is really wavering.  I am addicted tough damn you.  But after seeing the talk of porn on steemit I felt like I really picked a bad day to log on.  

But then I realized I have a voice and some people here listen to it.  

Please people, fellow steemers, steemians, steeminites, steematarians and steeminese or the lesser known steemights

The few people that will make a little money post porn will ruin the entire platform of all other topics.  It will be known as an adult site regardless of any other topic.  Maybe those already here can live with that but the new users will be turned off and not want to be associated with porn. I don't.  

This will not help steemit gain a name, a reputable place to share ideas.  It will be where people (mostly guys) go to vote for the hottest girls.

You are welcome to use the block chain technology to create you own site but please don't bring the steemit name with you.

Steemit needs to focus on the stuff that will make it a reputable platform anyone would be proud to join.
