Have you seen a <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/Cicada">#Cicada</a> before? I&#039;ve grown up hearing them all my life, but hadn&#039;t actually seen one until I was in my thirties. As a kid when they were making their call, which is more like a vibration, I asked my mother what that noise was. She told me it was the electricity going through the wires. <br />

I&#039;m not sure why she told us that, but it wasn&#039;t the first time as a kid we were given the wrong information. These guys are a type of <a href="https://somee.social/search/hashtag/locust">#locust</a> that live as larvae underground in the root systems of trees. Every seven years they pop out of the ground to molt, becoming what you see here. I have a shot of one coming out of its skin, but can&#039;t find it, so will have to share it later.<br />
