Started some Sinicuichi cuttings in the bubbler

I found some sponges and cut them into sizes that would fit into the holes of the lid. This way the plant stem will be hanging into the water and bubbles will rise around them giving the plants much need oxygen.

I cut half way through the sponges as well. So I can place the stems inside. And then when stuffed into the lid holes they hold well in place.

I flipped the lid over so it seats into the bin lower making me not need to fill as much with water.

The sponges I bought were a variety pack so lots of colors to work with. We shall see how well they hold up.. may need to go with thicker ones.

Now I have a bunch of tiny chunks of sponge. Not sure what to do with them.. maybe I can start seeds in them or something. Otherwise I'll just throw the rest out.

This is what they look like suspended by the sponge. I may need to start cutting stems longer using this bubbler bin. But most were long enough to reach.

I also have a cutting of a plant that broke off during shipping. So I placed it in the bin as well.

After building the bubbler I took some more cuttings along with two very long ones. Curious to see if the long ones do better or worse.

The tubes going from the bubbler into the bin go through the side. I put them as high as possible so the water line is not as affected.

The tubes are held down with rocks inside the bin and plugged so the bubbles rise through the holes I put in the tubes.

I cut off the extra bark on the stems to help promote root growth. I'll skip using hormone and see if they take with just the water and bubbles.
