《说文马部》共收字 115个，新附 5字，重文 8个。《说文十 上 马部》：“马，怒也。武也。象马头鬃尾四足之形。凡马之属皆 从马。莫下切。” 《马部》所收录的字，大部分都是与“马”这类动 物有关系。古往今来许多经典之作都证实了一个观点，即：“古 人用 字，细致有别 。”虽然同属于“马”这一大类 ，但是如果再继 续细分下去，这其中也会出现很多不同特色的马种。从这些不 同种类和特色的马里面，我们可以进一步分析和阐述 ，分析对 比出《说文》中表示动物类的字中马部所收录各字的细微差别 之处 。 1．在表示马的年龄大小方面，分别用不同的字进行描述。 如：驹 ，马二岁日驹。三岁日洮。从马句声。举朱切。 2．在马的皮毛颜色方面，也使用了不同特点的字来表示， 如：骊，马深黑色。从马丽声。吕之切。骆 ，马白色。黑尾也。从 马各声。虑各切。骢，马青白杂毛也。从马恩声。仓红切。 3．根据马 的毛色 出现 的位 置的不同 ，划 分不 同马种 。如 ： 驳 ，马色不 纯。从马爻声。 4依 据拉乘车辆的马匹的数量，划分马种。如 ：骈，驾二马 也。从 马并声 。驷 ，一乘也。从 马四声 。息利切 。 5．根据与马有关 的一些情况划分 的字 。如 ：驿 ，置骑也 。从 马 声 。羊益切。 从上述的例证中我们看到，古人使用了大量的字词表示 了同一类事物的细微不同之处 。如果从现代汉语 中进行观察 和对 比，我们会 发现 ，表示什么样的马或者马有什 么样 的细微 差别在现在已经没有十分明显的界限了。也就是说 ，与“马”有 关 的字 已经大大减少 了。在某种意义上 ，“马”字成 为了一种统 一 。 马部下面所包含的字发展到现在也就呈现出“以简代繁” 的趋势。那么，这个趋势是什么时候开始出现的?又是怎样不 断变化才产生出现在的形式的呢?那些看似繁琐的表示马种 类的字是怎样一步步消失进而转换到今天我们见到的字典里 马部中所收字 的呢?
