How to get started with Bitcoin

Getting started with Bitcoin is very easy. The easiest thing to do is to buy and hold Bitcoin. If you just want to have it as an investment you can make that investment in a few minutes with an exchange like Coinbase. Coinbase is the worlds largest website for purchasing Bitcoin. As of writing this, it’s #1 on the app store for Android. You can also purchase it from their website if you don’t want to access the app on your phone.

Bitcoin can be traded for other coins, which typically can’t be bought with fiat (conventional physical currency like the USD or Paso). You do this on an exchange.

To hold your Bitcoin you need a Bitcoin wallet. There are a number of them out there and you can store them offline on your computer. To do so you would access your wallet and withdraw the number of coins you want to purchase into your new wallet's address.

Every wallet has its own address so you don’t have to worry about accidentally sending me money.
