Zander, is known, to be a pack fish. In places where there are favorable conditions for its habitat, pack of zander can reach several hundred individuals. And on some especially outstanding reservoirs (for example, the Rybinsk reservoir or the Lower Volga) - and more than 1 thousand copies. The largest flocks form small, small, zanders weighing 0.5 to 1 kilogram. The larger the average zander, the fewer individuals in the pack. Trophy fish weighing 5-6 ... 10+ kilograms very rarely form a community, preferring to live and hunt alone. Although there are exceptions, it happens to catch more than one large fish from one point.
I myself have several times had to get on large flocks of Sudak. Several times this happened on the Lower Volga.

Once me and Uncle Zhenya managed to catch (and release!) More than 150 zanders from one place. The average weight of fish in this flock was in the range of 0.7-1.3 kilograms. I also managed more than once to get on the large concentration jf zanders on the Volga in the Nizhny Novgorod region. But there was an account of fish caught by 30-40 . One day, we and my permanent teammate for fishing, Kolya, ran into an incredible bited of zander. The zander bite from each cast, and literally in an hour we caught about 50 fish weighing 1.3-1.7 kilos. Again, most of the catch was sent back to the Volga. For us, with a partner, it was enough for food purposes 10 Sudak (5 each for brother), and it made no sense to fill a lot of fish, since it bites, we did not see ... Moreover, although pike perch kept pecking, we left the catch point, deciding search for pike)).
