The bill would prescribe various definitions in this regard and would define digital currency as a digital representation of value that can be digitally traded and is used to facilitate the sale, purchase, and exchange of goods, services, or other digital representations of value, except as specified. The bill would define digital currency business as offering or providing the service of storing, transmitting, exchanging, or issuing digital currency, subject to various exceptions. The bill would define a person to include an individual or other business entities, however organized."</em>

That's what I thought when I read the above excerpt of the bill. Indeed, it contains vague language, fluffy technical terms and sheer inaccuracies where the blockchain and 'digital' currency is concerned. These are people who don't understand the slightest about the value and potential of this technology. People who certainly don't have our privacy and decentral economy as their first priority. And they're scary.

Steemit brings a lot more to the table than just 'virtual currency' to be sure. It's a resillient platform with many venues and values. That doesn't, however, put us in the luxury of turning a blind eye to developments like these. We're part of the blockchain and the network of value transfers, like it or not. It's in the best interest for all of us to vet and improve any legislation that may be working against us one day.
