I have just finiahed reading this weeks installment of #boringpostwednesday by our own @welshstacker and i must say, i am chuffed! Welshie and the boys have been taking good care of my treasury: paying for leases, upvoting our crew, fixing the bugs, claiming accounts and generally keeping everything in order. My sparkle canon has almost 130,000 sp and if i know welshie and the boys, this figure will likely ascend as we cut further into 2019. However, the balance between larger SP power and the time we can maintain it is something that is looked over very closely. Slow and steady has been our *M.O.* and this has proven itself again and again to be a sound strategy. One thing that each and every SSG member can do is to make sure you cast a generous upvote for any @ssg-community content as you can be sure that your support will be added to our kick-ass collective. 

But enough of that... Y’all know what to do. 

Now, lemme’ ask you if you know how to stack: *do you know how to stack?*

There are many kinds of precious metals enthusiasts that participate in our fun here and gleefully show off their most recent acquisitions — i love this! Keep it coming — i have seen much of what is available out there, but sometimes it takes a little while for the new stuff to either fall overboard or go down with some sinking ship or other... so keep on showing off that shiny! But i’m getting sidetracked here... 

Do you know how to stack? Now i don’t mean “collect” or “curate” or “pay horrible premiums over spot,” i mean STACK. And not that there is any problem with collecting if that is what you enjoy, but i’m talking about **sheer accumulation of ounces**. By all means continue to buy up those fancy coins and rounds and slabs and such, but do you not wish to have a highly liquid asset you can sell if/when the Ag market booms, or indeed, if you need some extra dough for some bills? It is a painful experience to sell off some rarities or some cherished pieces for “common” price if and when you need some cash for something. So by all means keep on collecting that beautiful treasure, but also, i would respectfully suggest, begin to stack some generic ounces too. Decide on an appropriate “share” of your silver budget, and spend this money on the least expensive (yet recognized) silver you can find. As the weeks and months go by your “treasured” collection will become more and more insulated from harm and your “liquid” silver pile will continue to grow. 

Now i admit buying ASEs or SMLs (for coins) or Sunshine (and other generics) is not *quite* as fun as stacking other stuff. But when the time comes to unload it you will feel great calm, and gratitude that you don’t need to sell your Kooks, Steem rounds, Beasts, Koalas and the like.

Furthermore, if you are following the trends out there, you will know that the Ag:Au ratio is close to, like, a 5,000 year high? (Yeah, yeah, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much.) When the time comes to make a swap of Silver for Gold (if this interests you) you will want to have some generic to complete this shiny deal. 

Right now an ounce of gold costs about 85 ounces of Silver. So, why not make buying an ounce of gold a new goal? Get out there and stash away 85 ounces of generic silver as quick as you can (today, tomorrow, take a month or a year...) And then when this ratio corrects as it surely will, trade in the number of ounces it takes for the gold, and look over your remaing stack and rejoice — unless of course you time it right and then you might enjoy looking at 2 ounces of Gold!
