that's so true! Just by looking into facebook and instagram ... have you ever seen an education video that had as many views as a video from "funny cats" ? - I don't believe so .. entertainment is the answer. 
Even if I think that the current majority of steemit prefers more quality content .

Social media is probably one of the easiest way to invest and earn. But very good point of Steemit is to help and share others as well to achieve what others cannot. Anyway, keep up and have a good day ! :)

If you think about it in terms of upvote power, this is still true on Steemit. There's plenty of great content here that doesn't earn well because the do not have support from whales and dolphins. There's also some awful content that still gets support from whales and dolphins. Steemit will change this from being popular to being popular with people who hold a lot of steem. Also, being a whale or dolphin will make you more popular in many ways because of the weight of your upvote!

Great points man. It's something I try to remind myself of every day....You could write a Pulitzer and without eye balls reading it, it doesn't amount to anything.

And anything 'marketing' related seems to get crapped on in Steemit which I'll never understand.

This is a popularity contest and our job is to stick out from the crowd and engage people that do find our stuff / brand awesome

It’s like most things in life.  It’s about who you know rather than what you know.  Content alone doesn’t get you anywhere.

You are lucky because you convinced some investors ( whales) that you are a bad ass asset for them. Don’t forget that point!

@stackin popularity is a powerful tool on social media but if you cant pay your way through you need to have good content to draw attention....i believe if your content are good its just a matter of time before you Properly discovered

there is some factor which can influence the popularity and may be called X-factor, it don't belongs to everyone, you have to earn it.
