But how did this taste for games with a challenging difficulty start?

<div class="text-justify"><div class="pull-right"><p>If you know me you surely know that I have to mention Dark Souls, we all know that one of the concepts that is most talked about this game is its difficulty, it is not a secret to anyone that it has a fairly high difficulty and that has made many abandon the game, but this difficulty was what motivated me to complete the game, because after each challenge, I felt quite satisfied for the effort I had made, after analyzing a little I realize that more than a difficult game, it is a game with a fair difficulty, after all imagine facing a dragon with a sword or a club and that this is not a challenge that requires a fair amount of effort.

<div class="text-justify"><div class="pull-left"><p>Si me conoces seguramente sabes que tengo que mencionar a Dark Souls, todos sabemos que uno de los conceptos de los que más se habla acerca de este juego es su dificultad, no es un secreto para nadie que tiene una dificultad bastante elevada y que ha hecho que muchos abandonen el juego, pero esta dificultad era lo que me motivaba a completar el juego, porque después de cada desafío, me sentía bastante satisfecho por el esfuerzo que había hecho, luego de analizar un poco me doy cuenta que más que un juego difícil, es un juego con una dificultad justa, después de todo imagina enfrentarte a un dragón con una espada o un garrote y que este no sea un desafío que requiera una dosís de esfuerzo justa.

<div class="text-justify"><div class="pull-left"><p>No les voy a mentir cuando en algunas ocasiones puede ser hasta frustrante, varias veces me he enojado, la última vez que me ocurrió algo así fue hace pocos días jugando Blasphemous, pelee con un boss muy difícil y me tomó varios intentos derrotarlo, pero en ningún momento esa frustración me impulsó a dejar el juego, esa frustración se acumulaba y me daban más ganas de querer completar ese desafío porque sabia que si lo completaba no solo iba a recibir una recompensa, sino que también me iba a sentir satisfecho por realizar tal hazaña.

<div class="text-justify"><div class="pull-left"><p>Este gusto por los videojuegos difíciles ha hecho que cada vez que pruebe un juego nuevo, analice si la dificultad que posee es justa, muchas veces esto puede ser un poco decepcionante pero en otras ocasiones puede ser algo a lo que no le daré mucha atención, después de todo si un juego me presenta un desafío quiero que se sienta como tal, como un completo desafío, no como un desafío que no ponga a prueba todas mis habilidades, y de hecho creo que me gustan mucho los juegos difíciles por eso mismo, por ponerme a prueba constantemente y obligarme a agudizar todos mis sentidos, obligarme a usar mis habilidades al máximo, me gusta ver como saco lo mejor de mi y como soy capáz de completar desafíos con una dificultad elevada.

La dificultad de un juego es esencial para mí, pero todo va ligado al género. Lo mío son los RPG, no tanto los juegos de aventura, pero allí se que hay una gran dificultad, que además de ser desafiante es divertido.

Son muchos los juegos difíciles que he jugado, pero es tal cual di es, al pasarlos hay mucha satisfacción, y sobretodo cuando uno encuentra todo, pasarlo al 100%

Exacto, es por ello que algunos juegos como los Musou no son atractivos para mi, muchos enemigos que más bien son dianas portatiles esperando a que descargues todos tus ataques, depende del género como dices.

I find there's a huge sense of accomplishments with difficult games. Hell, I remember being so terrified to try The Witcher 3 on Death March, now it's the only way I'll play the game, as it "forces" you to do everything you can.

Despite them being hard games, I wasn't the biggest fan of dark souls, although I did enjoy bloodbourne

You're not alone on this one. Although difficult should mean fair, as you pointed out. Seeing I Wanna Be the Guy there made me shiver, that game made me SUFFER!

People say they miss NES difficulty, and while those games were fun, they weren't fair. Difficulty nowadays is better than ever before, and I love learning new games.

En el colegio primario jugaba con mis amigos al I wanna be de guy y nos podíamos el reto de superarlo es un reto increíble y muy divertido. A mi en lo personal los juegos con alta dificultad me ayudaron a manejar al frustración y a desarrollar la paciencia, en el día a día me sirve mucho porque si pasa algo malo o una racha de mala suerte como la que podemos tener en la vida cotidiana logro levantarme y seguir intentándolo.

Eso también es algo increíble, también me ha ayudado a no frustrarme con ciertas cosas, exponerme a situaciones frustrantes ha hecho que la tolerancia suba.

Curiosamente, hace unos 2-3 años no podría estar más de acuerdo contigo, los juegos difíciles me han acompañado durante una buena parte de mi vida, y obviamente me encanta Dark Souls, pero de un tiempo para acá tanto juego difícil ha empezado a saturarme y me hizo darme cuenta de que ultimadamente no son lo mio, hay casos muy precisos que tomaría con pinzas, como Hollow Knight y Celeste, pero ya no tiene que ver con que sean difíciles sino porque como juegos me encantan, así como podría gustarme Kirby's Return to Dreamland, que es bastante facilito pero le saqué el 200%.

Al final es una muestra más de que todos disfrutamos cada juego a nuestra manera, en ese contexto creo que un acercamiento fácil es igual de válido que uno difícil y viceversa, saludos dude.
