I agree with the point that IQ tests are not the accurate method to test ones intelligence. The result on the tests are affected by one's exposure to the world. Some one may have a lot of exposure to the world but not the aspects being asked in the question of IQ test.  Similarly, the understanding of a language also has an effect on the score. If somebody taking the test in English is not aware of the accurate meaning of key words, the scores are likely to be effected.

Further,  the practice and exposure to similar kind of tests again and againd increase one's score. That's why IQ tests are not the very acurate way of testing one's intelligence.

@josediccus  On💯, we are all a reflection of our choices, and of course, we have no choice if we haven't in some ways learned about them. You can not hold on to what you don't know, the IQ test basically doesn't tell the future of one's brain/intelligence but only helps one check one's stance in a particular area at a given time, and that pokes us to either learn more and vice versa.

Intelligence is something that just can’t be measured. It just can’t. Not even by the tests we’re made to take in schools, because the required answers are fixed and there’s no room to be creative in your answers(which is the definition of true intelligence). Not to mention that these tests are by someone else’s standard of intelligence.

Agreed bro. IQ cannot be a factor that decides the true potential of an individual. In today's world EQ (Emotional Quotient) is equally important! 

<div class=text-justify>I totally agree with you sir, I remember back then in school I never for one day got first but everyone I came across never for once agreed that I was not intelligent. Then I was very worried that I was not doing well because I didn't take first, not even once, but I got motivated by the words from people that I'm doing well so yes I think motivation plays a good role in intelligence because it helps those that think they are less intelligent like myself to want to keep trying even when we fail.

I think some people has the capacity to be brilliant, but I think we're a reflection of what we learn, what we make of these learning experiences and how we get better. Like you said, people who are supposed to be smart might end up being dull especially when they're not rightly exposed to the learning curve that could shape them. That's why I feel people are mostly who they choose to be and not what they're programmed to be.

I totally agree with you, it depends on how you wish to do with your brain, it has the ability to store more than any another thing in the world

Let me give you a scenario and give the answer about if motivation has a role to play in one's intelligence. 

While in my secondary school, my IQ on Mathematics was so low and it was because I didn't train my brain. Why is it that way? I never enjoyed the teacher, likewise I hate him. I got bored of the subject that it affected my result. Did I do well in other subjects? Of course, I did. In fact I developed interest in English more and I was good in some ways. 

Not being intelligent in Mathematics doesn't mean I wasn't in other areas. When I got to the University, I realized that factors that could make a student fail a subject or course is when you have no interest in the course or the lecturer himself which could be due to how such a teacher delivers the course. 

This lecturer made me love and enjoy mathematics with the way he taught me and I trained my brain from that day which helped me realize that I can actually do it if I am **motivated** to. 

So for me, an individual's IQ isn't a measure to one's intelligence but motivation does.

I agree totally with you on the fact, depending on how much you train your brain is the result you get, the brain has the capacity to accumulate thousands of things, it is now depending on the person to make use of it and also we learn everyday, what I got wrong today and there is correction the probability of missing it tomorrow is small...

I remember back then during my common entrance, we did IQ test where they dictated some story to us telling us to write it down with punctuation marks included lolz 😂🤣🤣...

It was so interesting but the punctuations were the Issue lolz 😂🤣...

Nice analysis and point of view here. I think the idea of intelligent quotient and other standard tests, and basically, the general standardization of everything is for convenience. 

Instead of developing a specific test for each individual a general test is developed for the general population. This is the same as IQ tests, and in this strength, is also it's weaknesses as you cannot always generalize and judge people from standard tests. 

A lot of things can enhance intelligence. And as you've asked, motivation is one of them. Facts already shows that highly motivated people will always do better than the general population. Motivation can come in a lot of ways too. Sometimes, it's proper incentives for efforts and with that you just unleash the hidden intelligence in people. 

Other times, conditions such as being poor or broke serve as a huge motivator and gets the brain overclocking!
