I have been thinking about what is common among the top 5 richest men. I was so curious to check the names google would bring up as the top 5 richest men, as you can see from the image below:

Why am I making this search? This is because I am hungry to know what it takes to be rich, what makes this guy different from the common man, and also what path I have to take, what things I have to know, and how much I need to build my knowledge base to make this kind of wealth they have, if not 10x more than they do.

As they say, if you want to be something that you see in people, you need to study what made them who they are, what journey they passed through, know the process, and not just admire the result that is being presented to the world.

So from the search I made, here are the top 5 richest men by [Investopedia](https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/012715/5-richest-people-world.asp):

Now, when I say I am looking for something in common, I do not mean traits like discipline, consistency, and all that. We all know that all these things are needed to be rich in the first place, but since making this list, it has become clearer right before my eyes.

Now look closely at the table. What do you see?

They all have something they are known for; they all have products they sell. That is one of the major things in common. Although there are quite a lot of other factors, like investing and taking huge risks,  nothing more has a greater effect than the product they have.

Before now, I used to think gaining a high tech skill and working for a big tech company would solve the problem and would definitely make me rich, but the truth is, I would spend the rest of my life building the dreams of other people if I didn't find my dream, and when I say my dream, I mean products that provide solutions to the needs of others, a product to build on.

For someone whose main income comes from a single entity, I mean a job alone with no form of investment, dream, or product to sell. Even if that job pays millions of dollars, the person risks a high tendency of going broke and losing it all.

But someone who has a product to sell, who knows how to reach his target customers, who knows the needs of his customers and how to meet them This person has a high tendency towards growing wealth, far more so than the previous person discussed.

Now, I think I know what to do. What about you?
