Do you even look at posts without an image or gif?

I noticed as I was going through trying to find some new content that I was somewhat subconsciously overlooking all of the posts without an image or gif, and even moredrawn to the gif posts even if they did not have a great title..

**Is this important to realize?**

And does anyone else feel the same way.. I mean I was never big on reading a lot and we live in a snapchat 10 second video world. Will this be important for content creators to know and utilize?

I do not want to name any specific types of posts, but I would hope the Steemit community wants to support the best material for the site that would help maximize our opportunities for Steemit.. But however currently I'm seeing a trend of flashy gifs and not much new/original content :/

So if you want your post to go viral I'm thinking using a gif or image might help, but always remember to put time into your post so people want to take the time to check it out and upvote it!

It seems like The ladies are the biggest winners here... Easily a cute girl can post a pic and describe some time in their life and Boom $$$ the steem bank opens its vaults....  Not so much for the average person.   oh well only time will tell...  But if this trend continues steemit will become a porn site  in no time   lol!!!

I noticed right away that the catchy tags and content with photographs appeal to more members. The women giving makeup advice has caught up with those discussing cryptocurrency. I had posted my writing in hopes of receiving feedback and critiques to no avail. I now submit every blog alongside a photograph of myself. I read a post describing how to get more votes and it talked about the use of gifs. So... I gave it a shot. So far, two of my most active discussion threads and voted posts had gifs in them. We are simple creatures after all, awed by shiny, flashy things.
