Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

## Contests, Giveaways and Raffles!

It’s another long contest list. That’s always good news, but if you’re a Steem Monster fan you’ll love this list! Almost all the contests are Steem Monster themed, and some offer both SBI shares and cards as prizes. 

Don’t play Steem Monsters? That’s ok, for most of these you can enter anyway. You’ll just be free of the desire to get your hands on those cards!

And if you’re into memes, make sure to check out number six on the list. They’ve got a large prize but no entries! Even if you’re not into memes you should take a look because you might just get inspired and win.

If you want your contest listed, the best way to get noticed is to post it in the contest channel in the SBI Discord server. 
 
Please try to think about your submissions and reward these great hosts with quality submissions. If you enjoy somebody’s contest format, check their feed for more, and follow them so you don’t have to wait for our listing to come out!

The important thing to know about this contest is that it's an ongoing creativity workshop, so if you miss one deadline you can participate in the next.

Mizu No Oto is founded on the belief that every image has a haiku.  It’s an @bananafish contest curated by @marcoriccardi, a real haijin (haiku poet) and it's a great occasion to learn this form of poetry.

## How to get on the recurring contest list

Do you run a regular contest that you’d like to see in our recurring contest section? We have some simple criteria you need to have to be included:

-   SBI units must be part of the prizes given out.
-   Contest needs to be running 5 weeks or 10 contests on a consistent schedule, whichever comes first.
-   Meet Contest King’s no upvote, no resteem, and no follow conditions.

## Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:

Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor *any* active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

The official currency for enrollment is STEEM. If we choose to accept SBD without refunding it, you do *not* receive extra value for it.

Enrollments are processed automatically every 144 minutes. Confirmation transactions are still manual and typically are sent within 2-3 days. Even if you have not received a welcome transaction, you can check your status using `!sbi status`.

The rshares reward rate for bonus units (delegation reward) is not decreased. It actually is higher, to return curation rewards to our delegators. You can help increase the sustainability coverage (and thus the rshares reward rate on regular units) by delegating to @steembasicincome.
