# Steem Basic Income
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

# HF20 Impact
HF20 has had some expected impact and some surprises! The biggest surprise is the RC debt. Thank goodness that was fixed, or it would take a while to climb out of the hole. We will be closely monitoring the RC and mana levels. At present, it looks like no major changes will be required once things stabilize, but time will tell. If we have to make additional changes as part of our upcoming automation launch, we will announce those once we are ready for launch.

At present, we are still reliant on Steemauto for upvote delivery, and it is completely paused. Once Steemauto is up and running, upvote delivery will resume automatically. Depending on the RC cost of voting actions at that time, it may be hit or miss at first.

In the unlikely event that we are ready to launch our full automation before Steemauto is back up, we will let you know. Since there is a lot of testing to do once all the code changes are in, I fully expect Steemauto to be up and running before we are ready with our own release.

In the meantime, we are still adding enrollments to the tracking sheets and reconciling those against the new database. We cannot configure rules or change voting weights until Steemauto is back up, so we are not sending confirmation transactions at this time. Once we are able to configure rules again, we will catch up the pending confirmation transactions and resume our normal rebalance cycle.

As for expected impact of HF20... we were upvoting author's at 19 minutes in order to maximize curation rewards earned and give authors a little extra oomph for their vote. Since voting early does not provide the authors with any extra reward... the after curation value of our upvotes can be expected to decline somewhat. The good news is that SBD rewards are back, so whenever there is a little SBD premium, that will be a boon to you again.

## Delegation Bonus
Existing members can receive bonus units from delegation. For every 10 SP delegated to @steembasicincome, members will receive 1 bonus unit. This reward will increase under our new system when it is released, and the increase will be applied retroactively at that time. Bonus units will be removed when the delegation is withdrawn. Currently each unit receives an average weekly voting value of 0.0033, due to suppressed VP from HF20. 

@sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 and @sbi10 are managed to target multiples (e.g. 200 shares ~ 400 SP, 500 shares ~1000 SP, etc.) For this reason we ask that members that are delegating for bonus units always delegate to pool 1 and we will manage the SP flow into the lower pools appropriately. If you want to fill SP orders through minnowbooster's market, you are of course welcome to fill the orders going to lower pools. **Please do not combine filling orders for pool 1 (@steembasicincome) with delegating for bonus units.**

Any Steemian that is already enrolled in @steembasicincome can delegate as much as they would like, to receive bonus units. If you are not already a member but would like to delegate, please send an enrollment transaction to @steembasicincome and we will add your bonus at the time we process your enrollment.

## Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the level of basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:

Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor *any* active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.
