Acceptance of What Is
I strived and wished for decades that I could be at ease in social settings. All I wanted was to be NOT anxious and to feel calm.

I tried every thing to deny and fight and resist and cure those feelings. Until 2 years when >> I just surrendered to it. 

I have fucking anxiety. I will probably always have it to some degree no matter what. I accept this about myself, i am still okay, and I'm sick to death of hiding and resisting this. It's not what I would choose, but it just is. And amazingly after giving up my resistance to feeling anxious...I feel it less. My energy is now directed towards other things in life besides this old fight, and I'm happier and less anxious as a result! So it's like giving in made part of it lighten up...a partial cure.

I don't know if this will help, but I promise it's worth watching.  I agree there is no complete cure to these things.  But there are ways of making our lives easier.

That was damn great! I can really relate to some of his old ways of being...taking things all too seriously, and also binge working and equating good living to productivity at the cost of rest, health and balance. I'm learning to focus on my big rocks, my true priorities, which are those things that bring me joy and delight, and I am much happier now. Again, Thank you so much for Sharon g this with me.

I think one of the problems with anxiety is that people are ashamed to share it.  Thank you for being brave enough to share it with us.  I have always been quite an anxious person but have tried to avoid showing it.  Perhaps I should change my perspective as you have.

Hi @thecryptofiend. I think that's part of the anxiety "virus" is that it wants u to keep it hidden. Convincing you hiding it will make you look better, but when hidden it's free to grow tentacles into everything. Truth is anxiety causes us to put up a false self, one that looks  relaxed and comfortable, but being honest and real about how i feel, i have found to be the antedote. I'm sorry you suffer from this too, and I'm really pleased you were open enough to share this with me. (This is how we start to get better 😉)
