Children's feelings are so sincere and so innocent that families, more than anything, have an obligation to teach them how to correct in time the social patterns that children often copy in order to fit in with another group of children who believe that mocking or attacking others for their physical or sensory aspects is a sign of being at a higher level in their own environment. And it is extremely difficult to overcome any type of verbal or physical aggression, whether racist or of any other kind, because if children do not have adequate support, they will be extremely damaged and scarred by this difficult stage, mainly due to the level of insecurity, sensitivity, and fragility that surrounds them. 

I have met fat people who have a capacity for living much more frankly, honestly, healthily, and confidently than any other slim person. 

It's incredible how you remember such specific details from those times when they called you Little Ganesha.

The stereotype of being fat or skinny is present all over the world. I think it's disrespectful to criticize or laugh at someone else, and I believe that these are values that should be learned in families, as well as self-esteem. The world would be different with good values and principles... children and teenagers can be very cruel.

I'm very happy that this has never affected you. It shows that you were raised to trust yourself, value yourself, and not care what others say. Well done!

There are many social stigmas. Whether you're fat or thin, you're still singled out. I believe every human being is unique just the way they are. The important thing is to accept ourselves as we are and be happy.

I've always been a bit overweight and it is something I struggled with most of my life.  I've got to the point where I just try to do what I can to be healthy internally and I know that ultimately that is what matters even if I don't see the results on the inside.

I know very well what you went through, since I lived it, but in reverse body types, I wasn't so brave and I'm glad to know that you never let your body discourage you and that you still participated in activities like the other children and even if you came in last, you just enjoyed the game, no matter the position, your position was always to have fun and be happy. That's absolutely true sir, people tease and make fun of people's body structure especially the fat ones. They often make fun calling them names like fatty, chuppy and sluppy and making the fat person feels bad and rejected because of his or her body structure. We need to accept people as they are, either fat or slim regardless of their body structure. Is not good to make someone feels bad on how you talk about them. Thank you for sharing with experience with us. We learn everyday 

I don't like to make fun of anyone and much less to be made fun of, I've received a lot of bullying in my life, it's quite sad, so now I don't let it affect me and I feel I have the right to confront them telling them that their attitude is inappropriate.
