One of the positives I saw from splitting the wallet from the browsing/content interface was the ability to send accounts which had been sourced from other than steemit.com to a location to organise their Steem keys.  

I know the new site is your product, but I'm still not convinced on the name.  Anyway, the interface split is a step forward, and I appreciate the extra information presented on the site regarding keys and their uses.

How could it get any more seamless than currently being integrated into Steemit? You are separating 2 related things from eachother and saying they are designed to be seamless... Does that honestly make any sense to anybody? Just leave it where it is, and it will be as seamless as it could be.

It's great to see such an improved communication from Steemit inc.

totally fine with limited ads its just most companies go crazy once they seem some revenue. I have a good feeling that will not be the case here. I fully support some ads to cover costs and improve the value of this site as well as hopefully put some of that value towards the steem price itself. We can't just have dApps selling off steem to cover costs it would be a never ending drain on the price.

Got into account with master key at the new wallet site, but

does not reveal keys when you re-enter your password.

I also had issues with key chrome addon,
it did not recognize the account or password.

So its still a little buggy. This is very important.
I suspect we are going to lose a LOT of accounts in this split.

For DDos Protection you could use something like: https://www.cloudflare.com/ddos/
or something like
https://aws.amazon.com/de/shield/

I haven't listened to the '60 minutes of Steem' recording yet, where you guys might provide some more details, but I appreciate your update here. 

I hope mentioning the DTube integration starts to give more perspective to regular users as to why the condenser/wallet split was necessary.

Thank you for giving this update. It's good to know about why you're doing different things and that security is a primary concern. I wasn't aware of the particulars of why the wallet was being de-integrated. It makes sense now.

It also means that in the future different interfaces can avoid implementing a wallet and just integrate steemitwallet, possibly lowering their risk.

I'm not a security expert myself, and yet the level of risk exposure that we're put under on so many websites worries me. We have so many adverts with flash and javascript. I don't know how these people can just have arbitrary code running on their sites, exposing all of their users. If something were to happen, I can't see how they wouldn't be liable. It would be like a car company installing parts from random companies with no testing whatsoever and not even any research on what they're installing.

Any chance you could do the what Whaleshares did with their wallet. Remove the wallet from the current "wallet" tab and put up a link with an icon for the wallet on top right by the "search icon", that redirects you to steemitwallet.com... 
If you leave it as is almost no one will us the wallet.

This is really good to see. Sounds like you're hinting at maybe notifications? An internal messenger? Hmm? Both would be great for Steemit.

Does the wallet split mean the frontend can now finally support more embeds such as codepen, and actually Iframe style embeds in general?

I am for ads if it strengthens the blockchain. It makes good sense to use both new and old ways of generating revenue. I think we just have to be careful that the pages remain streamline (no pop ups) and the ads not become overbearing. Nothing worse than going to a page and having to wait while the ads load before content can be read. I think with ads, less is definitely more. To the DDos attack. I find it interesting Facebook and Instagram​ also experience difficulties yesterday.

I completely agree with her on this one. Let's not lose the uniquely 'blockchain' sense of ownership for the end user when they (or others) look at their blog. I understand that you guys need to build revenue for operation costs but please no pop ups.

Now, after that little moan I will say that in-page dtube integration will be an amazing feature that may well see me using steemit again more than busy or steampeak. Keep up the great work 🙂
