unlimited editing is great. this will fix a potential issue of content owners coming after steemit for plagiarized content that couldn't be removed.

It's really encouraging to see improvements on the Steem Software. We are confident about the future of the steem software and platform. We also allow sending, receiving and exchanging on [Blockbasis](https://blockbasis.com), where users can send and receive crypto using only an email! No more complicated private and public keys, just good old email!

Will the unlimited editing effect the immutability part of the content we write on here? or is it the same as just finding the original block/TXID to see the "original content" i.e if someone has chain copyrighted something???

Great! I am a new user, and I've been around for about three weeks. Unlimited editing was "The First" thing I realized would make a lot of sense to implement in this great platform. 

Another VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE, in my opinion, is the implementation of something to work as a bot-killer. Bots are a plague around here. Something like an App for human-user identification (like a GoogleAuthenticator key) would help a lot to get real-votes promoting really good content.

Awesome news! Really appreciate the constant communication and updates. 2018 has already been an incredible year for Steem and it just keeps getting better with every update. Keep up the great work!

I'm just looking through the release notes right now, and I'm really pleased to see all the places this release is cutting down on superfluous options and confusing syntax!

Being able to go back and update locked in content to keep well ranking posts relevant is a pretty wide-ranging addition to a release that already has a lot of great implications for performance and stability. I think this will definitely change the way I think about writing my content, as I've shied away from certain links or styles, knowing that it's always only been unidirectional up to this point.

Otherwise... I'm looking forward to playing with all the new toys! Thanks for this solid continuous push towards improvement; it's exciting to be a part of it all.

What's the estimated release date for HF20?

Always good to get updates "from above."

I am not a technical person, so much of this flies a straight line above my head, but the ability to EDIT past seven days is very welcome... because it (in essence) enables a broad-based ability to keep content "evergreen." 

I point that out as "important" because lots of valid content here gets to be "out of date" and could readily be updated, even if it's not for a reward.

Why does it MATTER?

Because Google likes Steemit! But Google DISlikes "stale" content. And their algorithms (which — in terms of complexity — put the Internal Revenue Code to shame!) will increasingly "bury" stale and out-of-date content. 

And we need all the visibility we can get!

So that's a win-win, from where I am sitting...

As mentioned in many other comments above there should not be a restriction on 7 day window for a content as Content is an investment by creator on the platform. If platform is continuous getting business from that content then why to restrict creator on limited time window for rewards, his or her good work should always open for rewards.

Hmmm.....does that mean any comment that has been flagged to oblivion can now be deleted (assuming no reply) past 7 days?

oh so many noobness shameful i follow you you follow me can now be erased :P

My concern about unlimited editing is, someone can delete their old posts (e.g. from 1 year ago) and republish them again. I think this could open a door for abuse. I would be more inclined to limit the editing period to a few months instead. Also, the more edits, the more bloat to the blockchain, something to think about when it comes to scalability.
