[This could go both ways](https://interpersonal.stackexchange.com/questions/9393/dealing-with-a-friend-trying-to-get-me-a-girlfriend)!  Have you ever had *that friend* who just couldn't stand the fact that you were single and had to set you up with someone?  And not just anyone, a person you were sitting next to?

Yeah.

When people ask us out, some of us may say yes 'cuz we feel a little rude saying no, so when someone tries to set us up with someone directly, it's really rude.  How I feel about this:

-  Don't do this to others.  It puts two people on the spot and this can be really uncomfortable.
-  If we're the person trying to be "set up with someone else" we can re-spin this to them.  Say Sarah is trying to set me up with Courtney, I may tell Sarah, "Thank Sarah, I feel you should date Courtney."  Privately, we can be blunt.
-  If they continue to push, we may have to confront them about this.
-  In the rare circumstance where we may be interested in the other person (Courtney), go out with them.  It may create an awkward situation for Sarah if it doesn't work out.

How do you feel about this?  Every experienced it?
