Nasri, Fabregas, Van Persie just to mention a few are all players who opted for the exit door at what could be considered vital moments for the team’s development. A lot of factors have been hammered on over the years, but perhaps it’s time the fans and the club at large stop breaking the team harmony.
<hr>
Some Arsenal players start to feel like demi-gods in the squad maybe mainly because the fans and some analysts who call themselves club legends in their infinite wisdom have made them believe that. They are all humans and football is a team game, so it’s just Ludacris to hand over the entire glory to one player or a couple of players.
<hr>
Start with the academy graduates, it’s normal for fans to feel attached to people they have watched develop over the years but even at that, they need to create an atmosphere not too relaxed so they can fully develop and improve not to forget to approach a game with the right intensity. Iwobi, for example, is a good prospect but he’s giving off body language like he is already established. Reducing the social media attention these boys get is a decision that will help them. Also, banners or chants should be created after a player has fully settled in the team. I’m a very big fan of Jack Wilshire but a player whose career highlight is the game against Barcelona which he bossed the midfield as a teenager does not deserve a banner.
<hr>
<center>
https://steemitimages.com/DQmNzhxpzLUjMMG87AVJf9JdKbeL8hp6AMMkLF1ntow57oK/unnamed.png
</center>
<hr>
Finally, we would consider the current contract saga of their key players in Sanchez and Ozil.
<hr>
“He has a social contract with the rest of the players. So he has to stand up and do something on the pitch. And if a leader gives the feeling that he’s not completely committed to the future of the team, of course, that is a big bearing”
<hr>
Wenger was trying to remind the duo of their ‘social contract’. This goes a long way to prove that mutual respect for their colleagues was lacking, they probably view them as inferior or not good enough.
<hr>
<center>

</center>
<hr>
Arsenal fans, legends, coaches, manager and most importantly the players need to always remember that you don’t win games based on quality alone but the team spirit or team harmony which can’t be there if you let good performances of a couple of players get to them. Take for example, the Premier League winning performance of Leicester City, the team did not comprise of exceptional players, with all due respect to Ngolo Kante, Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and others, but one thing that team had was a very strong team cohesion and also a coach that could rally his players and instill that belief in them with finally got them crowned champions.
<hr>
As long as that team cohesion is lacking in Arsenal and also the lack of a coach to push his players to the limit and instill confidence in them, the major trophies are going to elude the Gunners and they will continue to fall behind their local and international rivals.
<hr>

Hmm I think this is a quiet sensitive area,Arsenal fans are just appreciating the players they have, this is very similar to what any other club will do and you do not see those players trying to force a move.

The major reason in my opinion why Arsenal continually face the problem of players wanting to leave is that the players reach that point where they feel they can no longer realistically achieve their career ambitions if they remain with arsenal and so they decide to leave.

@nexa ·
Great analysis @timoshey. I agree with you on the argument that idolizing players before even actually winning something is completelly wrong. This sets too high expectations on them and that actually backfires in the form of performance pressure for the players. But I think this is not the case only with Arsenal. I would argue that Liverpool also has suffered from the same syndrome for the last couple of decades.

@timoshey ·
Well, I agree with you. A lot of hype was placed on Raheem Sterling but it's good to see him live up to that hype in Manchester City now. Just read Liverpool coughed out 75 million pounds to buy Van Dijk from Southampton, making him by far the most expensive defender in football. A new 'god' just arrived Anfield.
There is obviously going to be a massive amount of pressure on him to perform. Hopefully he slots in fine and solves Liverpool's defensive calamity.
