The PGA Tour made its way back to the west coast this week for the Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, CA. Regardless of the tournament sponsor, Riviera is one of the top five most difficult venues on tour, regularly holding the winner to single digits under par.
<hr>
Patrick Cantlay and long-hitting Tony Finau jumped out to the first-round lead, both carding five-under par 66s to lead three other golfers by one.  Cantlay continued his steady play through the second round shooting a 69 to keep his lead into the weekend. Graeme McDowell made the biggest push firing a 66 to tie Cantlay at seven-under par for the tournament.

Two-time champion, Bubba Watson, got into the action early on Saturday posting six birdies and an eagle on his way to a tournament-low 65 to overtake Cantlay, who, for the third day in a row, played well, carding his second 69 in as many days.

Heading into the final round, Watson looked to hold off Cantlay, Finau, and Kevin Na who were all within two strokes. Watson started off the final round with a shaky one-over par front nine after he made three bogeys and two birdies. Finau, Cantlay, and Na were all unable to pull the lead away from Watson, all mustering one-under par on the front.

With Na and Cantlay both posting back-to-back bogeys on 12 and 13, Finau was the only player with a chance to catch Watson.  Both Finau and Watson finished the back nine bogey-free, however, it was Watson who separated himself on the fourteenth hole when he holed out a spectacular bunker shot for birdie. The highlight birdie capped a three birdie back nine to out last Finau and the rest of the field to win his third career title at this event.  Watson hadn’t won a tournament since this event was held under the Norther Trust Open title in 2016,
