The Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs get their four game series started tonight in the National League. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm Central Standard Time and the game can be seen on National Television on Comcast Sports Chicago and Fox Sports Ohio. It will take place at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois. The weather is going to be perfect as there will be no rain in the forecast and warm temps. The Cubs are huge favorites at -200 and the over/under is 9 runs.

The Cubs enter tonight’s action after an impressive 8-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. The offensive outburst was a welcome sight after they had struggled to give their starting pitchers much run support. The Cubs are only 5-5 in their last 10 games and are clinging to a 2.5 game lead over the surging St. Louis Cardinals and just a 3 game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central.

Cole Hamels will get the start tonight for the Cubbies and that should bode well. Hamels has been fantastic since joining the team a few weeks ago and the 34 year old lefty is pitching great.

The Reds are in dead last in the NL Central and have little to play for. They sit 17 games back of first place and have no chance at the playoffs. They would though like to play spoiler and that will have to be their motivation for the rest of the summer.

Anthony DeSclafani will get the start at pitcher tonight for the Reds. He is 6-3 on the year and has an ERA of 4.12.
