  **Description from Strava:**      
It was looking a little windy this morning, but it was dry. As I jogged up the road it was feeling a little chilly, but not too bad really. I was not feeling at my best with a few aches, but those will not stop me.

As I walked around the course to the start it was looking much better than last week. The slippery mud had dried up. That means there is less need to watch out on every step. I had a chat with my parkrun friends before we set off. It was looking like a much better turnout. The fact that the station car park is free at weekends could help.

Off we went and there was the usual muddy patch after the first corner. That will be the last part to dry out. I was wary of going too quickly at the start and let the fast people pull ahead. I just have to find my own pace. I found a couple of people I thought would be my sort of pace and tried to stick with them.

The first lap or so was hard work, but then I tend not to ease off at parkrun. I have to force myself to keep going. On the last lap I passed the couple of old (well my age) guys in front of me. One of them came back past me on the finishing straight and I had nothing left to stop that. It does not really matter as we each do our own thing and there are no prizes. I was still happy with my time. It was my quickest of the year by quite a margin. My friend Jeff was very close behind me, so he got a good time too.

I found I had enough energy to jog most of the way home, but I had still given all I could on the race (yes I know parkrun is not really a race). Since then we have had all sorts of weather. When I was shopping in Letchworth we had hail, but it started just as I got back in the car. It has been quite sunny, so the solar panels are doing their thing.

I usually scan through the results and I noticed Richard Herring was running. That struck me as I saw his show in Bedford this week and I mentioned this event to him as I know he does another local parkrun. I do not think it was him though as the runner was in a younger age category. I will do a write-up of the gig on Hive soon.

The photo is of a neighbour charging their car. They have a channel in the path for the cable. Their terraced house has no off-road parking. They still need to get close to do this.
