Contrary to what some believe London does not still suffer the old 'pea-souper' fogs of old when everyone had a coal fire, although there are still [pollution issues](http://metro.co.uk/2017/01/23/london-on-very-high-air-pollution-alert-for-first-time-6400578/).

Of course we still get some normal mist or fog on winter mornings. Unfortunately some people think this means they have to use their car fog lights even if visibility is hundreds of metres.

Fog lights are only needed if other cars would not see you otherwise, e.g. on a country road where they may come up behind you suddenly. They are not needed when crawling through town with a couple of metres between cars. I've been blinded by several of these this morning. Some are on SUVs and mounted at my eye level. They should at least be down on the bumper. I flashed a few of this selfish people, but with little effect.
