Gibson on the rocks

It's been expected for a while, but Gibson guitars has [filed for bankruptcy protection](https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/may/01/gibson-guitar-firm-files-for-bankruptcy-protection). The company had diversified into other audio products, including the Philips brand, and it didn't pay off. They also tried adding new features to their classic guitars, but players liked them as they were. 

Maybe kids don't aspire to be guitarists as they did in previous generations. Music has changed and a lot of it just doesn't feature guitars. Young people may be into games and other things now.

I've never owned a Gibson, and I'm not sure I ever will, but it would be sad to see them go. I don't think the brand will die as there should be enough demand to keep it going. The company just needs to sort itself out.

When the end of the '80s became popular with imitations of ibanez and fernandes brands, the same thing happened. Gibson changed the CEO. "It's prestige to buy gibson brand guitar," he made two ads. the price of guitars also increased 500-1000 dollars at the end of the fighting was saved. @steevc They skipped our biggest music trade show here in the states, and opted for an Electronics Show - I believe they said they want to be a Life Style brand, not just a guitar brand anymore.

Gibson  guitars just need to restrategize and and some digital flare to their guitar products, the world is fast evolving and changing fast due to technological changes and trends. People must especially the young ones now prefer digital musical instruments @steevc

Gibson guitars simply need to restrategize and some computerized flare to their guitar items, the world is quick advancing and changing quick because of innovative changes and patterns. Individuals should particularly the youthful ones now incline toward computerized melodic instruments @steevc

Sadly it seems most of today's youngsters are into computerised music. I suppose it started in the 80's with the advent of acid house. Round them up, drug them, hypnotise them, and stifle their creativity. Gibson are victims of social engineering.

It would be such a shame to see them go. On the other hand, it would make my Gibson SG, Epiphon SG, and Epiphon Less Paul much more valuable.

Gibson is just as Fender a brand that is connected to Guitars forever. I can't imaginge that it will disappear. to bad they indeed made the wrong choice somewhere along the way.... Les Paul forever :) 

I myself have a Epiphone, made by Gibson, great guitar. Have to revise it though but it sounds amazing...
