Way back in the last century my now wife and I went to see a movie called Toy Story. It was our first experience of a completely computer-animated, full-length movie and it was great. Pixar have now made 20 movies and I've seen most of them. We didn't even have kids when these started have taken ours to various of the later movies. Of course lots of other companies got into this too, but Pixar set a high bar for quality.

[The Incredibles](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317705/) in 2004 was really good. There was plenty for adults to enjoy as we got to see a superhero comic in animated form. I loved the characters, the action and the music. We've had to wait a long time for the sequel.

Depite the gap this continues directly from where the previous movie ended as the Parr family deal with life with powers they are not allowed to use.

Of course the technology has moved on, but part one looked good anyway. There's just more detail and I expect they can do a lot more with things like explosions these days. They have a lot more computing power available. One thing that stood out for me in part one was how realistic it looked when they were all wet from being in the sea. Just one of those little things.

This time there is a new villain who is controlling people via their screens. Very appropriate for the modern era even though a lot of the technology in the movie is a bit retro. Someone wants to help the 'supers' become legal again and Elastigirl gets to take the lead in this as her husband looks after the kids. He struggles with that, especially with baby Jack Jack discovering his powers. Jack Jack has some of the best scenes in this. There were plenty of laughs in the cinema.

It's a little predictable where the plot is heading, but I found it satisfying and enjoyable. There are lots of fights, but no blood and I don't think we see anyone die although it looked like we might at one point. It gets a PG certificate in the UK to reflect this.

Again the music is excellent. It's that 60s action movie style with bongos and trumpets.

We have been overloaded with superhero movies lately, especially from Marvel, but this is more like a comic with over the top action and odd body proportions. 

As usual there is a short before the main feature. It's an odd one about a couple who magically acquire a dumpling as a child. I think parents will appreciate it more than kids. It's beautifully animated and I don't think there's any dialogue.

I heartily recommend it.
