I think it can be done but only if they manage to offer affordable cars, with good ranges and good design. So far model 3 from Tesla is a good example. Although is someone the price down to 20k it will certainly help with the adoption.

Manufacturing of electric and internal combustion cars pollutes roughly equal, but the living environment will be FAR better with electric cars.

But I don't expect IC cars manufacturers will give up so easily. They still have some space for machine improvement and much more space in lowering the price.

Not one mention of the battery disposal, what a suprise. There was a huge leap of faith in battery technology advancement in the presentation and absolutely no mention of the raw materials needed to create these batteries, the huge energy required to mine said materials , battery cycles and the more electrical energy to charge them over time to battery degradation and multiple factors this video didn't take into consideration in their happy clapping electric vehicle video...
I am all for electric vehicles and cutting carbon emissions but Im yet to see satisfactory evidence for the battery disposal and recycling and the source of all this extra electrcity which worries me enormously.

Explain the costs f the EV supply chain and the relationship between electricity demand and the ability of renewables to support that huge rise.

Videos like this make the environmental movement look like idiots sadly. Presenting facts without reinforcement and accepting them at face value is folly and does nothing advance the cause.

I think it's certainly doable but it's definitely going to be a hard battle for adoption. If a country like Norway can promote the usage of electric cars by offering free charging stations on the side of the road and tax deductions as well as subsidization on certain EV cars to make them cheaper and more affordable then I don't see why the UK cannot. Sadly a lot of Norway's energy comes from fossil fuels so they're not totally in the clear, but I believe their model is a positive step in the right direction and that the UK could do something similar. Having all electric cars on street is going to improve our health ( Human Health). The pollution in the cities is becoming terrible right now. Even in winter bike riding on road feel like bike riding in summer.  It will be a relief for our longs. My government here is also having similar plan's of implementing all electric vehicles by 2030. I don't know if it is possible or not though.
