Let's not panic about the Steem price

According to [Steem Dollar](http://www.steemdollar.com/steem.php) the price of Steem has fallen below 20c, but I'm not too worried. I think it will rise again in time and most of my Steem is locked up in Steem Power, so I can't take it all out anyway. I have a bit of SBD and that's exchanging around 92c at the moment. It's supposed to stay within 5c of a Dollar, but they seem to be struggling to keep it there.

I used to use [Steem Prices](http://steemprices.com/), but that is not keeping up to date. Still showing Steem worth 26c.

If you read the [white paper](https://steem.io/SteemWhitePaper.pdf) you can see that this economy was designed to discourage currency speculation. Of course some people are making lots because they bought a lot of Steem early on, but if they did that when the price was around $4 then they are not doing great. Now may be a good time to buy. Those who are coming in expecting to make a quick buck could also be disappointed as post values have fallen. There's only so much Steem distributed each day and that is obviously worth less now.

So let's not panic. Concentrate on building the userbase. Bring in blogger, artists, musicians, writers etc. They will add value to Steemit and could earn good money for their work.

It's all about the 3 Cs - Content creation, Curation, and Comments.  I agree - build that use base and keep powering up.  It may be a slow climb but I believe Steem is going to recover.

I really hope it recovers. It's down another couple of cents now. There's just too much available Steem out there. I've seen suggestions that people 'burn' some as you can by promoting a post, but most will not want to do that. They should at least power up.
